Job Title Senior Director, Value and Access Strategy Requisition JR000015943 Senior Director, Value and Access Strategy (Open) Location Malvern, PA Additional Locations Job Description Summary The Patient Access Strategy & Planning Senior Director is responsible for five critical areas in the commercial organization: (1) Lead the development and execution of trade channel, pricing, contracting, payer and launch strategies for the specialty branded, generics and sterile & injectable portfolios. This also includes directing Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR) initiatives in collaboration with Medical Affairs and leading the development of key payer initiatives related to Payer Value stories to be used with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and Payers. Responsibilities include leading and collaborating with other Patient Access leaders as well as finance, sales, and brand teams. Responsible for working with the National Account team to create business cases for new strategies and “go to market” implementation plans for selected brands. The role will also focus on designing strategic plans around key account programs and improving on the current agreements we have with our partners. (2) Direct business planning processes and reporting features for Patient Access. The responsibility of this role includes directing Patient Access efforts for all brand strategic, tactical and forecasting planning initiatives in addition to being the Patient Access lead for all enterprise-wide Latest Business Evaluations (LBEs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). Responsibilities also include directing, operationalizing and management of Patient Access reporting for the specialty branded portfolio and key pricing initiatives. This role includes designing strategic plans, directing business operations, developing organizational metrics and tracking mechanisms, project management, and leading continual improvement efforts by the planning team. (3) Direct and guide all branded channel and payer marketing efforts. This includes specifically, strategy development and rollout of product acquisition, patient support and reimbursement tactics as well as strategic development of all payer initiatives, strategies, and tactics to optimize patient access to therapy for the ENDO Specialty portfolio (including Payer Value stories and Health Economics initiatives). This role includes leading and communicating all patient access marketing efforts with brand, sales, and medical teams, coordinating with Account Management, and PAVP leadership. (4) Lead Patient Access strategies and analysis focused on enterprise-wide business development opportunities. This includes strategies and analysis related to product analogues, payer mix, channel mix, pricing, contracting, coupon programs, HUBs and other Patient Access specific areas. Responsibilities also include the creation and management of product Gross to Net (GTN) Profiles to be used cross functionally. (5) Interface with all Business Development teams and Life Cycle Management teams to provide strategic input, manage all payer related and pricing input needs, provide landscape analysis and launch planning expertise to ensure successful commercialization of new products and LCM growth opportunities. The position requires strong leadership, significant collaboration and the ability to drive cross-functional change both internally and externally. This individual is expected to direct, lead, and manage others while also being able to demonstrate independent strategic thinking, rapid decision making, and work with minimal supervision. All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures. Job Description Patient Access Strategy & Execution Create the long-term strategy and execution of trade channel, pricing, contracting, payer, and launch strategies across Endo's branded specialty, generics, and sterile & injectable portfolios. Direct and oversee Patient Access related Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR) initiatives in close collaboration with Medical Affairs, taking a leading role in crafting pivotal payer initiatives tailored for Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and Payers. Lead the Long-Term Strategy for the Patient Access team, actively identifying opportunities, enhancing existing tactics, and addressing crucial payer/channel requirements to fortify the team's role in achieving overarching goals. Provide indispensable insights and recommendations on access and affordability messages, significantly contributing to the reinforcement of the overall Healthcare Provider (HCP) & consumer communication strategy. Lead seamless collaboration among customer-facing Patient Access teams, Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and Insights & Analytics teams. This collaborative effort aims to extract vital market insights across patients, providers, and payers, informing sophisticated patient access strategies and cohesive messaging. Assumes a pivotal role as the Patient Access lead in new launch brand/indication core teams, overseeing the intricacies of specialty distributor, specialty pharmacy, wholesaler, and channel/payer marketing strategy and execution, elevating the importance of the role in successful product launches. Drive the creation and meticulous execution of business cases for innovative strategies, taking charge of implementing "go to market" plans for selected brands with a forward-thinking approach. Lead coordination and execution with the National Account Team on tasks related to payer, specialty distributor, specialty pharmacy, wholesaler, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), highlighting the role's importance in navigating complex business relationships. Head the development of strategic plans for key account programs, actively enhancing and optimizing existing agreements with essential partners, positioning the role as instrumental in maintaining successful partnerships. Manage enterprise-wide Patient Access Integration initiatives, ensuring the seamless integration of branded specialty, generics, and sterile & injectable businesses into a cohesive model for Pricing & Contracting and Customer Operations/Service, underscoring the role's responsibility for organizational alignment. Collaborate with Pricing & Contracting to craft impactful payer communications that align seamlessly with access and contribution goals, emphasizing the role's strategic influence on market positioning. Play a critical role as a key member of the Patient Access Leadership Team, tasked with identifying opportunities, implementing key strategies, refining existing tactics, and meeting the dynamic needs of the portfolio, solidifying the role's critical impact on the organization's success. Channel & Payer Marketing Oversee and steer all payer and channel marketing efforts for our branded specialty products, highlighting the pivotal role in shaping and influencing market presence. Take a proactive lead in formulating and implementing strategies, orchestrating the development, and executing the rollout of tactics for product acquisition, patient support, and reimbursement. Emphasize the strategic importance of these initiatives as key drivers for organizational success. Lead and supervise the development of payer initiatives, strategies, and tactics, focusing on optimizing patient access to therapy within the ENDO Specialty portfolio. Emphasize the strategic significance of ensuring accessibility and the role's critical impact on patient outcomes. Spearhead cross-functional collaboration to optimize the promotion of support program services, ensuring seamless alignment with commercial strategy and objectives. Showcase the crucial role in achieving overarching business goals through effective collaboration. Direct the creation of compelling and distinctive product value propositions, overseeing the development of associated customer education materials. Underscore the importance of effective communication in shaping brand identity and customer understanding. Lead the development of payer value and communication platforms in coordination with patient access and marketing teams, emphasizing strategic alignment for comprehensive impact on the brand's perception. Direct the formulation of strategy, accompanying tactics, and rollout plans presented to Field Reimbursement Directors, Internal Access Team, and Sales. Highlight the leadership role in enhancing customer experiences and optimizing internal processes. Oversee the Business Planning Sr. Specialist and vendors, providing direction for the development of collateral resources crucial for the patient support hubs and the sales organization. Emphasize the integral support provided for successful operations. Strategically lead the development of potential payer or channel marketing materials for the Endo Specialty portfolio. Ensure strict adherence to the Endo material review process (MARC) and underscore the importance of maintaining high-quality marketing standards for sustained brand excellence. Business Development Opportunities Champion the formulation of Patient Access strategies, uniquely tailored to capitalize on enterprise-wide business development opportunities. Steer the course for substantial growth and success, positioning the role as a visionary architect of strategic initiatives. Take the lead in spearheading strategic alignment initiatives, assuming a central role in forging crucial connections with Business Development and GX. Ensure the effective integration of efforts for strategic business advancement, underscoring the role's significance in fostering collaborative success. Drive critical analyses essential for identifying and capitalizing on business development opportunities. Assess product analogues and establish market entry prerequisites as a strategic portfolio agent, playing a pivotal role in informed decision-making that shapes the organization's trajectory. Design comprehensive strategies and deliver nuanced analyses for pivotal areas within Patient Access. This includes a meticulous focus on payer mix, channel mix, pricing, contracting, coupon programs, and HUBs. Collaborate closely with Brand Strategy and Generics teams to assess and quantify Gx launch requirements and impacts, contributing substantially to informed decision-making processes. Oversee the creation and proficient management of product Gross to Net (GTN) Profiles, strategically utilized cross-functionally to ensure sustained financial precision and alignment throughout the organization. Emphasize the role's critical contribution to maintaining financial integrity and facilitating informed financial decision-making Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other graduate level degree preferred. Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with a successful record of accomplishment in pharmaceutical patient access, reimbursement, specialty sales or marketing. 5 years of experience in specialty/biologics reimbursement, product access or channel management is required Prior experience in patient services in a complex reimbursement environment is a plus. Previous experience in patient access with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, influence and lead. The candidate must have experience with patient access, reimbursement, and the product acquisition process in the specialty market. Previous experience successfully managing vendor relationshipsrequired. Previous experience managing multiple complex customer interactions. Knowledge Extensive knowledge of patient access and reimbursement and a deep understanding of all current or emerging trends and capabilities. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical development process and health care environment. Understanding of brand marketing strategies and the pharmaceutical selling process. Demonstrated understanding of the specialty pharmaceutical reimbursement landscape. Knowledge and understanding of Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR). Knowledge and understanding of P&L assessment and management. Knowledge of business planning, reporting functions and creation of business cases. Knowledge of business development and potential Gross to Net (GTN) implications. Skills & Abilities Must have the ability to lead and manage teams. Must have the ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop strategic solutions, implement tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact. Must have the ability to build consensus in a matrix environment with multiple functional groups supporting the brand team. Strong communication skills. Strong financial/analytical skills.
