Senior Electrical Engineer

ICODOS is a clean-tech company developing deep-tech solutions to combat climate change and create a more sustainable future. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (m/f/d) for a full-time remote role based in Spain.

Your mission

Own the electrical design of ICODOS's first-of-a-kind e-methanol plant — from defining design criteria and in-house standards through delivery of a robust, replicable and construction-ready electrical design.

What you will achieve

• Deliver an approved and construction-ready FOAK electrical design package, including single-line diagrams, load lists, cable-sizing and routing schedules, panel and switchgear specifications, hazardous-area classification, earthing and lightning protection.

• Own the electrical discipline end to end as the accountable owner of the electrical scope.

• Establish reusable electrical design standards and templates for ICODOS small and medium e-methanol plants, reducing engineering effort while ensuring compliance with international standards.

• Deliver electrical inputs to process, mechanical and automation teams on schedule so there are no electrical-driven delays to construction start.

• Support in-house engineering automation and streamline the ICODOS plant-development process through electrical-discipline expertise.

What you bring

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• At least 8 years of electrical-design experience in plant engineering, ideally for chemical-process or energy plants.

• Strong knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards, including IEC, VDE and other applicable international standards.

• Experience with hazardous-area classification, including ATEX and IECEx.

• Experience designing low- and medium-voltage distribution systems, motors and drives, power supplies and cable systems.

• Knowledge of power-system engineering, UPS and DC systems, power-management systems and substation automation.

• Experience delivering first-of-a-kind, EPC or greenfield projects and working effectively in a scale-up environment.

• Ownership mentality, a hands-on engineering mindset, systematic first-principles problem solving, rigorous documentation and strong process-safety awareness.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with process, mechanical and automation teams.
