Department: Aboriginal Strategy Department/Agency: NSW Reconstruction Authority Location: Req ID: 86163 3x ongoing full-time opportunities (35 hours/wk) Aboriginal Identified opportunity Role based i n regional NSW (i.e., Central West, Southern Sydney and Northern Rivers), with flexible/hybrid working environment Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $ 1 33,348 to $1 46,945 + super About the role We are seeking dedicated Senior Engagement and Programs Officers to join our Aboriginal Outcomes Branch. Based regionally, this key role is relationship-centric that drives meaningful social, economic, and cultural outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities across NSW. These new roles will work across the diverse range of Divisions within the agency and coordinate the delivery of high impact projects that focus on outcomes for Aboriginal communities within NSW, building purposeful and intentional relationships with Aboriginal communities, partner services and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing projects from inception to completion, developing robust project plans, overseeing budgets, and monitoring milestones to ensure delivery within scope and timeframes. Delivering culturally appropriate consultation mechanisms to identify community aspirations, needs, and priorities. Provide support and advice on practices that promote a culturally safer workplace , embedding Aboriginal cultural principles and protocols into all regional operations while building collaborative networks with communities and stakeholders. Providing expert advice on ‘Closing the Gap’ initiatives and producing high-quality reports, briefings, and communications tailored for diverse audiences. This is an Aboriginal Identified role where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977). About You You will have a proven track record working directly with Aboriginal communities and businesses, delivering place-based community programs, and enhancing an organisation’s cultural capabilities. Ideally, you have a strong understanding of the social and economic issues impacting Aboriginal people and communities, alongside knowledge in Aboriginal procurement practices. It is also significant that you have experience in managing multiple working groups and communities with diverse perspectives, navigating competing priorities, and resolving complex cultural issues. Essential Requirements This is an Identified role under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role. Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977) for Aboriginal people who meet the following criteria: is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community. Current NSW Driver's License Willingness to travel (including regional and city-based travel), including willingness to stay overnight in non-established camps in remote areas. A current NSW Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one. Please note that pre-employment checks including the Working with Children Check will be paid for by the agency.
