Senior Engineer (Bridges)

Our Team includes designers, engineers, surveyors, project managers, technologists, geo-technical and environmental teams, asset and maintenance managers and quantity surveyors all working together We work in partnership with public sector clients and private companies both at home and internationally, and we are committed to supporting the government in realising their climate, infrastructural and societal goals as part of Project Ireland 2040 Our key areas of expertise in Structural Design include: Smart cities Large Scale Residential and Commercial Buildings Water & Wastewater Our key areas of expertise in Civil include Rail & Urban transit Active travel Roads and bridges Water & Wastewater Smart cities Energy Consulting and Operations Key Responsibilities: Lead the delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects Manage projects from concept through detailed design to construction and handover Undertake and oversee bridge and structural design and detailing in line with relevant standards Carry out and review structural analysis and design calculations Manage and undertake independent design checks, including Category checks Plan, programme, and manage project delivery, resources, and budgets Act as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to junior engineers Ensure quality, safety, and compliance across all deliverables Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.Eng/M.Eng) in Civil or Structural Engineering Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Bridge Design Engineer, covering all project phases from concept development through to project handover Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within highways, roads, or rail sectors Equality, Diversity & Inclusion We at EGIS are an Equal Opportunities employer and we recognise the value of a Diverse Organisation.
