Senior Engineer- Software Development

Role Purpose As Senior Engineer - Software Development at Accelya, you will lead complex software features and services work, designing authoritative technical solutions, mentoring junior engineers and driving engineering quality and best practices across the team. Duties & Responsibilities • Lead complex software features and services design and delivery, producing high-quality, scalable and maintainable solutions • Drive adoption of GitHub Copilot, AWS CodeWhisperer, Cursor AI and Claude for AI-assisted code generation, review and documentation across the team, measuring and communicating engineering velocity improvements • Lead technical quality activities including architecture reviews and code quality standards • Mentor and coach junior engineers, building technical capability and engineering culture • Collaborate with senior architects on platform design decisions and technical roadmaps • Lead resolution of complex technical incidents, applying expert debugging and problem-solving • Use generative AI (Claude, ChatGPT) for technical design documents, engineering RFCs and knowledge base articles Required Experience & Skills • 5–7 years of Software Development experience including technical leadership of complex features or systems • Expert proficiency in Java, Python, Go, TypeScript, REST APIs, microservices and cloud-native development on AWS • Proven ability to lead code reviews, mentor engineers and drive engineering best practices • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern software delivery • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Preferred Experience & Skills • Expert use of GitHub Copilot, AWS CodeWhisperer, Cursor AI and Claude for AI-assisted code generation, review and documentation to accelerate complex engineering work and drive quality improvement across a team • Deep knowledge of AWS services and how cloud-native patterns apply to mission-critical airline software • Proficiency with generative AI (Claude, ChatGPT) for engineering RFCs, technical leadership content and knowledge management • Understanding of the competitive airline technology engineering landscape What do we offer? • An open culture with a creative and challenging opportunity to satisfy your intellectual needs • Flexible working hours • Smart working: a hybrid remote/office working environment • Work-life balance • An excellent, dynamic and multicultural environment to work in About Accelya Accelya is a leading global software provider to the airline industry, powering over 200 airlines with an open, modular software platform.
