Job description: Role title: Senior Environmental Consultant

Location: Castlerea, Co. Roscommon

Coyle Environmental Ltd is a leader in the field of Environmental Monitoring and Consulting, based in the West of Ireland and serving clients nationwide.

Role Description:

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives on working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and seeks to drive business growth. The successful candidate will work on projects across a wide range of sectors including the extractive and waste industry and domestic, commercial, and industrial developments. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on diverse projects in a supportive team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from conception through completion with both clients, internal teams, and external specialists to ensure successful delivery.
  • Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Liaising with County Councils, An Bord Pleanála and other statutory bodies as required.
  • Drive growth and development of the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Understand client needs, provide expert advice, and deliver high-quality environmental consulting services to meet project objectives.
  • Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, including proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Providing mentorship and direction to team members and sub-consultants.

Skills to include:

  • A working knowledge and proven track record of Environmental Impact Assessment, preparation and management
  • EPA Industrial Emissions Licence applications
  • Preparation of discharge licence applications
  • Preparation of waste licence and waste permit applications
  • Working knowledge of by products (Article 27) and end of waste (Article 28)
  • And other environmental reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Fluent/highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the environmental sector In Ireland or UK
  • Proven expertise in Environmental Consultancy.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting environmental assessments, impact studies, and regulatory compliance assessments.
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time.
  • Knowledge of EU and Irish legislation and it’s practical applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and project management abilities
  • Capable of working independently and willingness to travel
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent time management

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Project management qualification
  • Chartership in a recognized environmental professional body (e.g., IEMA, IEI, IGI, CIWM, CIWEM, CIEEM)
  • Safe Pass
  • Manual Handling
  • First Aid
