Role Overview As part of the beqom engineering team, you will contribute to software that supports pay fairness for employees around the world — while bringing your technical skills to make it scalable, performant, and high-quality. Your mission will be to enhance, modularise, debug, and maintain the front end of the beqom SaaS application, used by 100+ customers globally. You’ll work in an agile, iterative environment, mentoring other engineers and helping raise the bar on testing, automation, and code quality across the team. This role is for someone who thrives on meaningful technical challenges — someone who can navigate and modernise a complex codebase, balance delivery with technical debt, and bring genuine curiosity about where AI fits in the future of product development. What you'll be doing Build new application features and platform tools, and improve existing ones. Navigate and modernise an established codebase — shipping high-impact features while leaving the code better than you found it. Analyse and understand functional and technical requirements, collaborating with internal and external teams as needed. Review pull requests from other engineers, including code produced with AI assistance. Collaborate with frontend and backend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions. Mentor and coach other Software Engineers, helping them discover new technologies and improve their development practices. Troubleshoot issues reported by users and provide timely resolutions. Use AI coding tools in your daily workflow, and help the team improve how we use them. Contribute ideas and prototypes for AI-powered product features. Share knowledge and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture. Skills & Experience What you'll bring Technical Demonstrated senior-level expertise in Software Engineering with proven front-end experience. Deep JavaScript fundamentals — you understand the language, not just the frameworks built on top of it (async, event loop, modules, performance, browser APIs). Strong proficiency in React or Vue, and TypeScript. Experience with unit testing and writing automated tests to support confident deployment. Comfortable working with legacy codebases — you’re not intimidated by refactoring and modernisation work. AI mindset An active, opinionated user of AI coding assistants — Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar — in your daily work. Genuine curiosity about how AI can be embedded into user-facing products, beyond developer tooling. Ways of working Fluent in English, written and spoken; additional languages are a plus. Strong communicator and collaborative team player. Proactive, open-minded, and comfortable taking ownership of the projects you work on. Bonus points if you have Experience working with large datasets. Experience with Tailwind CSS. Knowledge of statistics and algorithms. Experience working in an agile environment.
