Our platform doesn't just power our own services it also drives the commercial lending capabilities for some of the worlds most recognised brands. We're a fast-growing company, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Frontend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Our engineering team is remote-friendly but we work from our Surry Hills office 2-3 times a week to collaborate. Were looking for a candidate who is passionate about engineering and technology, can solve technical problems and is able to communicate problems and solutions with ease. What You'll Be Doing As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the user-facing future of our platform. Your responsibilities will include: Build and maintain a next-generation web application with a strong focus on user experience Take full ownership of the Valiants end-to-end testing frameworks to ensure quality and reliability Optimise code for performance and cross-device, cross-browser compatibility Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high quality features Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards Integrate with backend systems via API endpoints Mentoring and collaborating What were looking for We're looking for a passionate frontend engineer who combines a love for elegant, maintainable code with a keen eye for exceptional user experience. Required Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in frontend web development, particularly VueJS. React/Angular experience is also acceptable Expertise in JavaScript ES6, CSS3, and HTML5 Proven experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines Solid experience with various testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and E2E testing (e.g., Mocha, Jest, Cypress) Experience with build tools like Webpack or Vite Experience using agile development tools such as Jira or Linear A portfolio that demonstrates a passion for creating engaging and high-quality user experiences Familiarity with design systems and component libraries Excellent communication skills Bonus Points: Experience with security best practices (e.g., OWASP, STRIDE) Performance optimisation experience, including familiarity with Core Web Vitals, code-splitting, or server-side rendering (SSR) Knowledge of the financial services industry (lending or corporate finance) Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience building inclusive web applications A Computer Science degree Experience navigating GDPR and/or SOC2 A strong understanding of backend concepts or experience with full-stack development Benefits & Culture We're a remote-friendly team, but if you prefer an office environment, our Surry Hills space is open, dog-friendly, and empowering.
