Why Altium? Build the web platform that presents Altium to the world. Our web team owns Altium's public web properties — the main marketing site, documentation portal, customer dashboard, resource centre and localized regional sites — serving high traffic across roughly ten locales. These are some of the contributions you might make to Altium's web platform: Building headless Next.js / React applications consuming Drupal data over GraphQL Driving the migration from a Drupal-themed frontend to a modern Next.js stack Building and maintaining a shared design system on Radix UI, shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS Owning the rendering, caching and data-fetching decisions that sit between frontend and CMS Altium offers the opportunity to shape the frontend architecture of a high-traffic, multi-locale web platform and to move it forward while it keeps running in production About the Role Your primary role will be building and evolving the frontend of Altium's web properties, primarily as headless Next.js applications consuming data from Drupal over GraphQL, while keeping the existing Drupal-integrated frontend stable and visually consistent during the ongoing migration. We are hiring for depth in React, Next.js and TypeScript — not for prior Drupal knowledge. Our Drupal frontend layer and deployment specifics are things a strong frontend engineer picks up in a few weeks, and we will support that ramp-up. A Day in the Life of Our Senior Frontend Developer Develop features and components in Next.js, React and TypeScript, using the App Router and React Server Components and choosing the right rendering strategy per page Integrate applications with Drupal via GraphQL and Apollo Client; implement content freshness with ISR and on-demand revalidation Build and maintain reusable UI components on Radix UI, shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS, aligned with the design system Maintain and extend existing Drupal themes (Twig templates, SCSS, Pug-based markup build, Webpack) Own Core Web Vitals, accessibility and technical SEO for the pages you ship Write component tests, contribute to the shared Playwright E2E suite and investigate production incidents with Sentry Participate in code review and contribute to engineering standards and codebase health Who We're Looking For 4+ years of commercial React experience, including at least 2 years with Next.js in production Owns a feature end to end — from design handoff through rollout and post-release verification Traces a production incident from an error report to root cause without hand-holding Makes technical decisions, states trade-offs explicitly, and updates a position when evidence changes it Treats visual regressions, accessibility and performance as part of "done", not as follow-up work Pragmatic about legacy: willing to maintain an existing Drupal-integrated frontend while helping move the platform forward Reviews others' code constructively and raises the standard of the codebase around them Required Technology Experience Strong JavaScript and TypeScript (strict mode) Next.js App Router and React Server Components in production Client-side GraphQL (Apollo Client or equivalent) Tailwind CSS; component library and design system principles Frontend caching: ISR, on-demand revalidation, TTLs and cache invalidation Core Web Vitals and the tooling to measure and diagnose them Web accessibility standards Multi-locale applications SCSS and at least one template engine (Pug, Twig or similar); Webpack and frontend build pipelines Git and code review Nice to Have Drupal theming: templates, theme libraries, integrating markup Storybook or another component workshop Image and performance optimization with Next Image and Sharp Redis and cache strategy / invalidation design Marketing site instrumentation: GTM, dataLayer, consent management (e.g. OneTrust) Technical SEO depth: structured data, sitemaps, hreflang across locales
