Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Full Stack & Mobile Engineer who can own features end to end across web, mobile, backend, infrastructure, and deployment.
You'll work across a modern TypeScript stack, building production applications with NestJS, Node.js, React, React Native, Expo, and PostgreSQL, while deploying and operating infrastructure on AWS.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who is comfortable moving between frontend, backend, mobile, databases, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD. You should be able to take ownership of a feature from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
You'll work closely with designers, product managers, AI/ML specialists, and other engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and polished products.
Responsibilities
Full-Stack Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web and mobile applications. Build backend services and RESTful APIs using NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Develop web interfaces using React, React Native Web, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
- Build cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Expo.
- Own features end to end, from architecture and implementation through testing and deployment.
Mobile Development & Deployment
- Develop and maintain React Native applications using Expo and EAS (Expo Application Services).
- Manage production releases and deployments to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Troubleshoot mobile-specific performance, compatibility, and deployment issues.
Backend & Data
- Design and maintain backend services using NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Design and implement secure, scalable PostgreSQL databases.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs for web and mobile clients.
- Work with ORMs such as Prisma where appropriate.
- Implement caching and performance strategies using technologies such as Redis.
- Build architectures capable of supporting multi-tenant and white-label SaaS applications.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Deploy and manage production applications and services using AWS.
- Work with AWS services including Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, CloudFront, and Amplify.
- Design infrastructure with scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency in mind.
- Work with Docker and Linux-based environments.
- Diagnose and resolve production infrastructure and application issues.
CI/CD & Engineering Operations
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Manage application builds and deployments across web, iOS, and Android.
- Work with Bitbucket for version control and collaborative development.
- Use Jira for project management, planning, and tracking.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards.
Performance, Security & Quality
- Optimize frontend, backend, database, and mobile application performance.
- Implement appropriate security and data protection practices.
- Write and maintain tests and ensure reliable production releases.
- Debug complex issues across the full technology stack.
- Pay close attention to detail, particularly in user-facing functionality and production systems.
- Continuously evaluate new technologies and improve existing architectures.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Work closely with designers, product managers, AI/ML specialists, and other engineers.
- Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly and proactively.
- Take ownership of features and projects rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction.
Requirements & Skills
Mandatory
Backend
- 5+ years of professional full-stack/software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and backend architecture.
Frontend
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with React Native Web.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS.
Mobile
- Strong experience with React Native.
- Experience with Expo and EAS.
- Experience deploying applications to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Database
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of database design, indexing, query optimization, and production database management.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly services such as: Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Amplify
- Experience with Docker and Linux.
CI/CD & Development Tools
- Experience with Bitbucket and Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Experience working with Jira.
- Strong Git/version-control practices.
Strong Nice-to-Haves
The following experience is highly valuable but not required:
- Python / Django
- AI/ML integrations, particularly:
- OpenAI/Whisper or speech-to-text systems
- Google Gemini
- Speech, NLP, or conversational AI APIs
- Video streaming technologies such as Kaltura and HLS
- Designing multi-tenant or white-label SaaS architectures
- pgvector or other vector database technologies
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into production applications
- Experience building EdTech, language learning, or education platforms.
- Experience working with video-based learning products.
