Your role As a Functional Analyst, you bridge the gap between business and IT: you translate needs and processes into clear, implementable requirements, and you create a shared understanding between stakeholders and the development team throughout the entire analysis and delivery process. You get the space to help shape how a team and an organization work, and your work makes a visible difference: turning a vague idea into a solution that is actually built and used. As a Functional Analyst, your tasks will include: Gathering needs and translating them into clear user stories in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders. Organizing and facilitating workshops to define scope, validate assumptions, and work with the business to translate ideas into a visually appealing application. Modeling processes and functional behavior using UML and BPMN . Drawing up test scenarios to verify that the built solution meets the requirements. Writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria . Your hard skills: You have in-depth knowledge of analysis methods and modeling techniques (UML, BPMN, XML and web services). You have experience supporting E2E testing. You have experience writing Use Cases using UML, Story Mapping and MoSCoW prioritization. You have experience with modeling and design tools such as Enterprise Architect, Visio, Figma, Balsamiq,... You are skilled in using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence . You have experience using testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman, Swagger . You have a basic knowledge of SQL, JSON, XML and/or web technologies (HTML/CSS3) You have experience with AI tools and prompting , given the growing role of AI in analysis and delivery processes. Your profile You have at least 5–8 years of relevant experience as a Functional Analyst. You have demonstrable experience guiding an analysis process end-to-end: from requirements to delivery. You have experience with Agile / Scrum and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. Strong communication skills , both with business and IT colleagues. Analytical and structured thinking : able to break down complexity into clear, actionable steps. Skilled at facilitating conversations/workshops and safeguarding scope. Taking ownership of your own work area and working in a results-driven way . Ideally, you are 3-lingual: Native-level (C2 level) of one of the two national languages Dutch/French + fluent in ENG Hybrid employment: you will work on site at the customer’s premises, combined with working at Adesso Brussels and remote homeworking.
