Job Title: Senior General Liability/Construction Litigation Associate/ Partner Role: Senior Associate/Partner – handle cases independently overseeing associates/conducting trials Expertise: Senior Associate/Partner level experience Job Location: Valhalla (Westchester), New York City, Garden City (Long Island) or Parsippany, NJ - Hybrid office / remote Description: Represent business owners, landlords, managing agents, security services organizations, building owners and contractors in general liability litigation and construction litigation. General Liability is one of the cornerstones of the firm’s practice and the GL group is well respected for its expertise at all levels of litigation from inception through trial and appeals. This position is for an attorney with experience to join the General Liability team which represents landlords, managing agents, business owners, security companies and owners of a wide variety of commercial establishments, including litigation of Labor Law, products and complex, high exposure matters. We are looking for a bright attorney and excellent writer who is highly motivated and proactive – someone with the willingness and capability to act independently and comfortable with client interaction. We are looking for someone with trial experience who can try cases in the five boroughs. Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively to develop litigation strategy for the defense of general liability actions; • Draft and review pleadings and discovery, memos, briefs and other legal correspondence and litigation documents; • Represent clients in court; • Participate in depositions, conferences, hearings and all other aspects of general liability litigation; • Conduct trials; • Interact with medical experts; • Conduct legal and medical research and analysis; • Draft motions; • Work cooperatively with others; and • Interact with clients. Education and Experience Required: • Admission to practice in New York; and • Experience in personal injury litigation or comparable experience. • Familiarity with New York Labor Law a plus. Skills and Abilities Required: • Strong legal research, writing and verbal communication skills; • Ability to interact with clients and command client confidence; • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects; • Excellent organizational and time management skills; and • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly. The anticipated pay range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000, depending on the level of experience, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal needs factors.
