Position Overview Sunday Citizen is seeking an experienced Senior Home Textiles Sourcing, Production & Quality Control Manager / Sourcing Agent based in India to become our on-the-ground representative for sourcing, production management, and quality control. Sunday Citizen already works with manufacturing partners in India. A key responsibility of this role will therefore be to take ownership of these existing factory relationships, regularly visit suppliers, oversee production and quality control, troubleshoot issues, and ensure our standards for quality, cost, timing, and delivery are consistently met. At the same time, we are looking for someone with a strong existing network within the Indian home-textile manufacturing industry who can identify and develop additional factories and sourcing opportunities as our production base grows. This is not a general apparel sourcing position . We are specifically seeking someone with deep, hands-on technical experience in home textiles and bedding . The person will work closely with our Senior Product Development Team and Senior Merchandising Manager , effectively becoming Sunday Citizen’s sourcing, production, and quality-control representative on the ground in India. Key Responsibilities Serve as Sunday Citizen’s primary on-the-ground representative with our existing manufacturing partners in India . Visit factories regularly and maintain strong relationships with factory owners, management, production teams, and QC teams. Oversee production, quality, specifications, timelines, capacity, and delivery performance . Conduct or manage quality-control inspections throughout the production process. Identify and troubleshoot production and quality issues directly on the factory floor. Review samples, materials, construction, measurements, workmanship, finishing, packaging, and production consistency. Manage the sourcing and production of bed sheets, comforters, knitted and woven blankets, bedding, loungewear, pajamas, and related home-textile products . Support sampling and product development with existing suppliers. Work directly from tech packs, product specifications, existing samples, and construction requirements . Manage costing and negotiate FOB pricing, MOQs, production terms, capacity, lead times, and other commercial requirements . Identify, evaluate, and onboard additional qualified home-textile factories when needed. Work with woven sheeting materials including TENCEL™ Lyocell, bamboo-derived viscose, organic cotton, cotton, and other cellulosic fibers . Understand knitted and woven yarns, materials, construction techniques, dyeing, finishing, and manufacturing processes. Ensure factories consistently meet Sunday Citizen’s standards for product quality, construction, cost, production timing, and delivery . Maintain close communication with Sunday Citizen’s US-based Product Development and Merchandising teams. Provide regular reporting on production status, quality, factory performance, costing, samples, timelines, delays, risks, and delivery. Required Experience & Qualifications Significant experience specifically in home-textile and bedding sourcing, production, and quality control in India . Strong existing relationships within the Indian home-textile manufacturing industry . Demonstrated experience with bed sheets, bedding, comforters, knitted blankets, woven blankets, and related home-textile products . Strong technical knowledge of weaving, knitting, textile construction, yarns, fabrics, dyeing, finishing, and manufacturing processes . Experience with materials such as TENCEL™ Lyocell, bamboo viscose, organic cotton, cotton, and other cellulosic fabrics . Strong hands-on production management and quality-control experience . Strong knowledge of costing, FOB pricing, MOQs, supplier negotiations, lead times, production planning, and delivery management. Ability to read and work directly from tech packs and detailed product specifications . Ability to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues directly with factories. Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills. Ability and willingness to travel frequently to factories throughout India. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. English proficiency sufficient to communicate directly with a US-based Product Development and Merchandising team. Existing Factory Management & Sourcing Requirements Unlike the Vietnam position, Sunday Citizen already has active manufacturing relationships in India . The successful candidate must be able to step in quickly and take ownership of managing these existing suppliers on the ground, ensuring production runs smoothly and Sunday Citizen’s quality and delivery standards are consistently met. However, we are not looking solely for a QC inspector or production coordinator . The candidate should also be an experienced sourcing professional with their own factory relationships and the ability to identify alternative or additional manufacturing partners when needed. The objective is to have someone in India who can simultaneously manage and improve our current production while expanding our sourcing capabilities. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate combines deep home-textile expertise, sourcing capabilities, production management, hands-on quality control, negotiation skills, and strong relationships within the Indian manufacturing ecosystem . They should be comfortable spending significant time inside factories — reviewing bed-sheet construction and specifications, evaluating weaving and knitting capabilities, working from tech packs, reviewing comforter and blanket construction, negotiating directly with factory management, identifying quality problems on the production floor, managing corrective actions, overseeing inspections, and ensuring production remains on schedule. Most importantly, this person can become Sunday Citizen’s eyes and ears on the ground in India , taking ownership of existing production while helping the company strengthen and expand its Indian manufacturing base. Compensation & Engagement Structure Sunday Citizen is open to different structures depending on the right candidate: Full-time Employee: Compensation package based on experience, capabilities, and market expectations. Independent Sourcing Agent: Commission-based structure tied to purchases/production. The priority is finding the right person with the technical expertise, sourcing capabilities, factory relationships, production-management experience, and hands-on approach to represent Sunday Citizen effectively in India.
