Peregrine Team is hiring a Human Resources Consultant to support a client based in Washington. This position is a contract role with full benefits and competitive pay. About the Role FMLA: Exempt Peregrine Team is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to deliver high-impact HR advisory services in a dynamic environment. This role will act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance across a broad range of HR functions with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and union engagement. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR policies, practices, and risk mitigation Partner with leaders to assess organizational needs and provide recommendations on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actions Advise on union-related matters, including interpretation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), grievance processes, and labor relations strategy Ensure compliance with federal, Washington state, and local employment laws, proactively identifying and mitigating risk Analyze HR data, trends, and metrics to inform decision-making and provide actionable insights to leadership Support and guide performance management processes, including coaching strategies, development planning, and performance improvement Advise on leave of absence, accommodations, and related compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA) Lead or support HR audits, compliance reviews, and process assessments to identify gaps and recommend scalable solutions Partner with stakeholders to drive change management initiatives, including restructures, policy implementation, and organizational transitions Facilitate training sessions and provide guidance to managers on HR best practices and leadership effectiveness Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., legal counsel) as needed to support business objectives Provide recommendations to enhance HR programs, policies, and overall employee experience Qualifications 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR advisory or consulting capacity Required: Experience working in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interpretation and grievance handling Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels (Washington preferred) Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, including conducting investigations and managing complex, sensitive situations Advanced proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels High level of discretion with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification preferred
