This role sits in the Health & Safety function to embed a culture of proactive risk management and regulatory safety compliance, across the health & wellbeing space at UNSW Why your role matters Play a critical role in shaping how we support and care for our people. Become a trusted advisor, providing frontline support for injury management and oversight of workers’ compensation claims and processes across the organisation. Through practical support you will help uplift capability across the organisation on best practice injury management. Working within a newly established Health & Wellbeing team, you will influence best-practice injury management, early intervention, return to work design and psychosocial support frameworks. Reporting to the Head of Health & Wellbeing, the position works closely with Safety business leaders, P&C and external providers, including our third-party claims provider in a self-insured environment, to support the implementation of the Health & Wellbeing Framework. Oversee the delivery of high-quality outcomes for injured workers and ensure integration of injury management practices with broader wellbeing initiatives for a holistic approach to workplace safety. About You: Highly experienced injury management and workers’ compensation professional with deep expertise complex case management, legislative compliance, risk management. Confident working as sole consultant in the space to implement early intervention strategies within large, self-insured organisations to drive safe workplace outcome and health and wellbeing programs across diverse business environments. You hold the following skills & experience: Relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience of 5+ years across personal injury, workers compensation or workplace rehabilitation. Strong knowledge of legislative requirements and compliance obligations for injury management and claims, particularly in a self-insured environment. A strong understanding of risk management methodology and the application of this in the workplace Demonstrated expertise in complex case management and early intervention and response strategies. Data literacy, experience analysing and using datasets, and ability to interpret insights to drive improvements. A strong customer focus with a record of working in cross-functional environments to ensure safe operational outcomes. Ability to coordinate and monitor third-party providers, ensuring quality and timely service delivery. Ability to work within a program management environment to deliver transformational health and wellbeing projects and initiatives.
