Reporting to the Manager, Systems Development & Integration, the Senior Integration Developer is part of the DevOps team designing, developing and supporting healthcare systems integration solutions, using HL7 v2.x and FHIR R4. This role will play a key part in healthcare integration projects and operational support, requiring deep integration with Epic and other clinical and enterprise systems. Key Qualifications: College Diploma (3-year program), bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 5 years of experience developing interfaces and integration solutions in a healthcare environment Hands-on experience with FHIR R4 APIs is required Hands-on knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7) v2.x messaging standards and structures is required Experience with REST API design and development (JSON, RESTful services) Experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server 2020, including large-scale deployments and high-availability configuration required Working knowledge of the .NET Framework 4.0+ and .NET Core 8.0+, including Visual Studio 2022, C#, and ASP.NET Core is required Proficiency with SQL Server 2022, including SQL queries, data access optimization, and database object management Knowledge and experience using Azure DevOps (Git) for source control and CI/CD pipelines is required Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration patterns in a healthcare environment is required Knowledge of eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) and Extensible Markup Language (XML) messaging standards is required Understanding of healthcare data integration patterns: bi-directional data flows, real-time and near-real-time synchronization Familiar with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, and deployment Experience with Epic integration surfaces, including Epic Bridges, is strongly preferred Experience with Real-Time Location System (RTLS) integrations for new hospital builds is an asset Experience with Oracle Fusion HCM and UKG integrations is preferred Experience with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Azure Functions) is strongly preferred Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or equivalent Azure integration certification is strongly preferred Working knowledge NoSQL databases Familiarity with AI-assisted DevOps tools to support continuous improvement in interface development, testing, monitoring, and incident management is an asset Working knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework Ability to work with teams to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Managing the entire cycle of interface application development, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live and support, to advance Trillium HealthWorks priorities Designing and implementing FHIR R4-based integrations with Epic, including bi-directional data flows (read and write-back) Developing and supporting custom API development for FHIR integrations Supporting REST API design and development (JSON-based RESTful services) for healthcare data exchange Development and migration of interfaces on the Microsoft BizTalk 2020 platform, including large-scale deployments and high-availability configuration Application performance tuning across multi-tier applications Excellent database skills including SQL Server 2022, SQL queries, data access optimization, database objects creation and optimization, and working with NoSQL databases.
