Senior iOS Engineer

On behalf of Jeppesen ForeFlight, Moment is looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to join their engineering organisation in Gdansk or remote from Poland.

Develop software that pilots rely on

Jeppesen ForeFlight develops digital solutions for flight planning, navigation and aviation operations.

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will contribute to the continued development of their iOS application. You will work with a mature and technically complex product that combines large amounts of data, demanding calculations and an intuitive user experience.

The position is suited to an engineer who enjoys understanding how systems work beneath the surface and who is comfortable taking ownership of features throughout the development lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain iOS functionality in Swift, from technical design and implementation to testing and release.
• Work across the application, including user-facing features, application logic and the underlying technical architecture.
• Investigate and solve complex challenges related to performance, concurrency, memory management, algorithms and data structures.
• Contribute to architectural discussions, code reviews and technical decisions that support the long-term development of the product.
• You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product specialists and aviation-domain experts to transform complex requirements into reliable and intuitive functionality.

Strong iOS experience and solid engineering fundamentals

You have several years of professional experience developing complex iOS applications and a strong understanding of the Apple development ecosystem.

You are highly proficient in Swift and familiar with modern language features, including Swift concurrency and the developments introduced with Swift 6. You understand how architectural decisions, memory usage, data structures and multithreading affect application performance and stability.

You are comfortable working in large, mature codebases and have experience developing applications where reliability, maintainability and performance are important. This could be within large enterprise applications, aviation, navigation, mapping, gaming or another technically complex product environment.

Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures is important. You should understand not only how common data structures work, but also how factors such as data volume, access patterns and implementation choices can affect real-world performance.

Experience with C++ is an advantage, but not a requirement. It may also create opportunities to contribute to other teams and technical areas within the organisation.

You communicate professionally in English and are comfortable working with colleagues across different technical disciplines.
