Senior IT System Engineer (based in Da Nang)

We have over 100 talented employees working both on-site and remote/hybrid at locations: Hanoi: Zodiac building, 19 Duy Tan Street, Dich Vong Hau ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi Danang: 81 Quang Trung, Hai Chau 1 ward, Hai Chau District, Danang The Senior System Engineer is a key technical authority within SmartDev’s IT Infrastructure team . You will own the reliability, performance, and security of our systems - spanning on-premises hardware, cloud workloads, and the network fabric that connects them. You are the primary escalation point for complex incidents and a trusted partner to development and product teams. System & Infrastructure Operations Resolve and close incidents and service requests in line with help desk SLAs, acting as the first point of escalation for system-related issues. Plan and execute hardware and software deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance. Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; proactively address risks before they impact service. Maintain scheduled data backups and validate restore procedures regularly. Network Administration Administer and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, load balancers, and firewall devices. Run regular network and data-security assessments and act on findings promptly. Email Management Administer Exchange Online and other mail services like Sendgrid; configure and maintain mail flow rules, connectors, and anti-spam/anti-phishing policies. Procurement & Vendor Coordination Evaluate tools and vendors to recommend cost-effective, future-proof solutions. Continuous Improvement & Reporting Identify and drive improvements to systems, tooling, and operational processes. Produce and share clear, regular operational reports for stakeholders and leadership. Maintain accurate technical documentation and runbooks. 4+ years as a System Administrator , with hands-on expertise in Linux/Windows environments. Technical Skills Networking — LAN/WAN, load balancing, firewall configuration and management. Virtualization — Xen, KVM, or VMware. SaaS Administration — Microsoft 365 Global Admin and Jira/Confluence Admin. IT Management Platforms — Endpoint Management, Endpoint Security (ManageEngine or equivalent ITSM/RMM tooling), including policy configuration, agent deployment, and antivirus/EDR policy, patch automation, software inventory & compliance Web Services — Nginx, Apache, reverse proxy configuration. Observability & Monitoring — Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or PRTG. Scripting — Bash and/or PowerShell for automation and task management. Email — MS Exchange Online / SendGrid Soft Skills & Other Requirements Communicates clearly in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). Able to produce concise technical documentation for varied audiences. Strong analytical mindset with a bias towards proactive problem-solving. Nice to Have Cloud platforms — AWS or Azure knowlegde and hands on Containerisation — Docker and/or Kubernetes. CI/CD pipelines — GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
