Senior Java Developer with German

🚀 Senior Java Developer | German B2+ | Full Remote

At CrewHarbor, we connect German companies with experienced IT professionals from Romania.

We are currently looking for 3 Senior Java Developers to support a long-term software development initiative in the German public sector.

💻 What you’ll be working on:

✔ Designing, developing and enhancing Java-based enterprise applications

✔ Working with Java EE and/or Spring Boot

✔ Designing and implementing REST and SOAP interfaces

✔ Contributing to software architecture and object-oriented data modelling

✔ Working with relational databases and, where applicable, NoSQL technologies

✔ Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally with Jenkins

✔ Working with Docker, containers and Java Application Servers

✔ Collaborating directly with German-speaking stakeholders and agile development teams

✔ Contributing to frontend development and accessible user interfaces where required

🔎 What we’re looking for:

✔ Ideally 6+ years of professional Java development experience

✔ Several recent Java development projects

✔ Strong knowledge of Java, Java EE and/or Spring Boot

✔ Experience with REST and SOAP

✔ Knowledge of Git, Jira and Maven

✔ Experience with Tomcat or comparable Java Application Servers

✔ Experience with relational databases; NoSQL is a plus

✔ CI/CD experience, ideally Jenkins

✔ Experience with Docker and container technologies

✔ Linux and Windows experience

✔ Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS

✔ Experience with Scrum or comparable agile methodologies

✔ German language skills at B2 level or above

⭐ Nice to have:

✔ Previous experience with German public administration / public-sector projects

✔ Scrum certification or comparable certification

✔ Knowledge of accessibility requirements such as BITV

🎯 Specialized profile

For one of the three positions, we are particularly interested in candidates with Vaadin experience, ideally combined with previous experience in school administration or school management systems.
