About envelio inc. envelio Inc. is a fast-growing software startup revolutionizing the utility industry. We are the U.S. arm of envelio, an award-winning clean-tech software company headquartered in Cologne, Germany. envelio is on a mission to accelerate the global energy transition. Our flagship product, the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP) empowers utility companies to automate and optimize hosting capacity, interconnection requests, and long-term grid investments. By enhancing efficiency, improving customer experience, and optimizing energy management, we help distribution system operators navigate the evolving energy landscape with confidence. 🔎 Learn more about us: envelio Inc Careers About the role As we rapidly scale in the U.S., we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team and help shape the future of the electric grid - the largest and most complex machine ever built. Shape the next phase of envelio's growth in the U.S. You'll work directly with executive leadership to identify where our platform creates the greatest value: across new use cases, regulatory tailwinds, strategic partnerships, and product capabilities. This is an opportunity to help define our commercial strategy, not simply execute an existing playbook. Your focus will be expanding where and how envelio's platform is applied across the U.S. utility market. By having a deep understanding of utility procurement, regulatory drivers, and operational challenges, you'll identify opportunities that shape our market strategy and inform future product direction. 📌 Location: Hybrid - Boston, MA preferred, or Remote (Eastern Time Zone). ✈️ Travel: Travel required as needed 👤 Reports to: Luigi Montana, CEO What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Drive the scope expansion of envelio's platform and identify where the regulatory and procurement environment creates real demand. Track and analyze regulatory proceedings and industry trends and translate those into commercial opportunities that align with envelio’s strategy. Build and manage a strong partner network to accelerate market development and build holistic solutions for utilities. Work with the product and engineering teams to shape how the platform evolves for the US market - translating field intelligence into roadmap input and ensuring new use cases land with the right capabilities. Develop a point of view on market segmentation: which utility types and which geographies represent the strongest near-term opportunities, and where the platform's proven capabilities create the clearest competitive advantage. Support active sales pursuits with market context, competitive intelligence, and use-case framing when needed - but your primary job is upstream of the pipeline, not inside it. What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills) Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in the utility industry or grid tech, ideally in the space of planning, engineering, interconnection, data. Strong commercial, regulatory, and technical understanding and the ability to bridge those. Clear communication, structured thinking, organization, and good product sense. Drive to build and execute with speed. Strong collaborator who can build relationships internally, with partners and utilities. Be willing to travel, if needed. Why Join Us? We’re building a dynamic, mission-driven team that values meaningful work, personal well-being, and the flexibility you need to thrive. Here’s what you can expect: 🚀 A high-impact role in a rapidly growing tech company shaping the future of the energy transition. 🌍 Remote-friendly culture that empowers you to do your best work from anywhere. ⌚️ Flexible time off policy, take the time you need, when you need it. 🩺 100% covered premiums for medical, dental, and vision benefits (70% for dependents). 💳 Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contribution to support long-term well-being. 💰 401(k) plan with up to 4% employer match to help invest in your future. 📦 Home-office stipend to help you work comfortably from anywhere. 🚌 Commuter benefits for in-office commutes and business travel. 🏢 Boston HQ with opportunities to connect in person with the team. 💡 Join us and help shape the future of clean energy! envelio is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We hire based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by law.
