Job Description Position: Senior Manager I&E Reliability Primary Location: Home based United States or Canada (ability to travel 30%, US and Canada) Reports to: Corporate Reliability Director Compensation: $180,000- 190,000+ Bonus + Benefits (salaried, exempt) Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. About this Role and About You The Senior Manager, I&E Reliability provides leadership and direction to ensure the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of electrical and field instrumentation assets across Chemtrade facilities in North America. This role serves as the corporate technical authority for electrical power distribution, electrical equipment reliability, field instrumentation, analyzers, motors, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, grounding and bonding, electrical integrity, arc flash, and electrical safety. The position develops and governs standards, maintenance strategies, PM/PdM requirements, risk assessments, audit expectations, and capital project deliverables while supporting sites through technical coaching, root-cause analysis, risk-based asset planning, and consistent adoption of Chemtrade standards.' Qualifications Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university. Preferred – Licensed Professional Engineer 10+ years of experience with reliability and maintenance for electrical power distribution, electrical equipment, MCCs, motors, VFDs, UPS systems, field instrumentation, analyzers, and related I&E assets in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or similar environment. 5+ years direct supervisory experience; demonstrable success in building and leading technical teams. Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM to guide and initiate/monitor/audit site safety in a chemical process environment. Extensive knowledge of applicable electrical and instrumentation codes and standards, including IEEE, NFPA 70/70E, CSA, IEC, ISA, API, and related industry practices. Demonstrated ability to manage technical interfaces across electrical, instrumentation, controls, operations, maintenance, engineering, EHS, and capital projects while maintaining clear accountability and effective working relationships. Specific experience related to reliability management for electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, VFDs, UPS systems, field instrumentation, analyzers, arc flash, electrical safety, lifecycle planning, and maintenance strategy development. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability conduct root cause analysis, life cycle costing Demonstrated ability to influence across multiple levels of an organization Ability to communicate concisely with senior leaders and translate technical requirements into practical expectations for site teams, maintenance, engineering, EHS, and capital project teams. Capable of basic drafting. General skills: Organized, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines Self-motivated & High sense of ownership (comfortable working autonomously) Strong collaborator & effective communicator with multiple levels in the organization (verbal and written) Results-driven and inspiring leader with a proven ability to mentor and empower teams to achieve excellence. (solution oriented) Humble, adaptable, & life-long learner Data driven & process oriented Ability to Travel 30% Responsibilities Establish, govern, and enforce engineering and maintenance standards for electrical equipment, electrical distribution, field instrumentation, analyzers, motor control, VFDs, and electrical integrity programs. 5% Own corporate electrical safety and electrical integrity expectations, including arc flash, protective device coordination, electrical inspection programs, code compliance support, and long-range electrical risk reduction planning. 10% Support successful plant turnarounds and outages with appropriate I&E resources, technical reviews, scope validation, readiness checks, commissioning support, and reliability deliverables. 15% Review and update predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance practices for electrical and field instrumentation assets; communicate requirements clearly to all sites. 15% Support EHS roll-out activities with emphasis on electrical safety, process safety support, field safeguard reliability, and risk reduction associated with electrical and instrumentation assets. 5% Direct, supervise, and coach Electrical and Instrumentation Reliability Engineers assigned to corporate reliability. 15% Coach managers, supervisors, engineers, and site personnel on I&E maintenance best practices, reliability expectations, technical capability gaps, audits, and corrective actions. 5% Maintain lifecycle plans for electrical infrastructure, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, motors, VFD hardware, UPS systems, field instrumentation, analyzers, and related I&E assets; ensure interface requirements are clearly defined for assets connected to control systems, networks, or automation platforms. 5% Review site operations and produce electrical and instrumentation reliability risk assessments; use arc flash, electrical safety, and system reliability evaluations to support short- and long-range capital planning. 5% Support high-priority emergency maintenance 5% Support capital project design, execution, commissioning, and handover for I&E scope; ensure installations are maintainable, reliable, code-compliant, standards-aligned, and clearly handed over to site maintenance teams. 10% What Chemtrade Offers You Embracing Diversity, Maximizing Results At Chemtrade we are committed to cultivating a work environment that embraces and values the unique qualities, skills, and experiences of every employee.
