  • Define the role of each platform within the broader content ecosystem, ensuring cohesive fan journeys and platform-native storytelling.
  • Lead strategic planning for tentpole moments including season launch, marquee matchups, Takeover Tour, Playoffs, Draft, Awards, and major campaigns.
  • Oversee day-to-day publishing, programming, and optimization of league social channels.
  • Lead real-time coverage for high-priority moments including live games, breaking news, and cultural opportunities.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Social Media Coordinators, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Own the league's community engagement strategy across social platforms, balancing proactive fan interaction with thoughtful moderation.
  • Work cross-functionally with Communications, PR, Community, Partnerships, and team Social Media Managers to integrate narratives and ensure alignment.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics across platforms and translate performance data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, emerging trends, and innovations to continuously evolve strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in social media or digital content, preferably in sports with live event coverage.
  • Demonstrated experience creating a multi-platform content calendar and strategy.
  • Advanced knowledge of social editing and design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Slate, CapCut, etc.
  • Deep understanding of social listening tools, analytics platforms, and content management systems.
  • Experience managing and developing team members in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Expert knowledge of social platforms, trends, and fan behavior.
  • Strong written communication skills with meticulous attention to grammar, style, tone, and editorial quality.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and willingness to travel frequently.
  • This position may be based in either the United States or Canada. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the women's sports landscape and a passion for advancing visibility and storytelling in the space.
  • Experience leading social media for a brand or organization with a global audience.
  • Experience collaborating directly with athletes, talent, or influencers on content development.
  • Background in launching or scaling social channels for emerging brands or leagues.
  • Experience integrating brand partnerships and sponsored content into social storytelling authentically.
  • Creative instincts with an eye for design, video, and emerging content formats.

Flexibility & Travel

This is a remote role requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by event and season schedules. Frequent travel is required.
