Senior Manager, Technical Assistance The Senior Manager, Technical Assistance leads the day-to-day operations and performance of the Technical Assistance team, ensuring producers receive high-quality technical guidance, resources, and support related to sustainable agriculture programs and opportunities. This role oversees a team of Technical Assistance Managers who support multiple agricultural sectors, including beef, row crops, specialty crops, and dairy. The Senior Manager is responsible for coaching and developing the team, ensuring consistent execution of technical programming, and driving operational excellence across enrollment, technical assistance, and producer engagement initiatives. Trust In Food has the benefit of engaging directly with the nation’s top agri-media brands, trusted for ~150 years in U.S. agriculture. This role will closely coordinate with our journalists, media anchors, podcasters, and other professionals to deliver what’s important and what’s next in sustainable agriculture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned. Lead the daily operations of the Technical Assistance team, ensuring consistent delivery of technical support, training, and sustainable agriculture resources to producers. Supervise, coach, and develop Technical Assistance Managers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Partner with the Senior Director, Conservation Programs and the Director of Grants & Enrollment to execute the strategic vision and operational priorities for Technical Assistance. Oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technical programming, educational resources, and producer-facing content delivered through Trust In Food programs, subscriptions, enrollment accelerators, and events. Coordinate resources and team capacity to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations. Manage project timelines, priorities, and deliverables across multiple initiatives using internal project management systems. Monitor team performance, project milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular progress updates and recommendations to leadership. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Grants & Enrollment, Partnerships, Events, Communications, and Product teams, to support successful program delivery. Ensure technical information and producer resources remain accurate, current, and aligned with industry best practices and program requirements. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and team efficiency while maintaining a high standard of service. Escalate project risks, resource constraints, and operational challenges to leadership with recommended solutions. ~10% travel to farm locations, industry events and client meetings. Skills/Professional Experience These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following: Minimum 8+ years of experience in agronomy, agricultural technical assistance, sustainable agriculture, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience leading or managing teams, including coaching and developing employees. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and cross-functional stakeholders. Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture practices and producer support programs. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail. - Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Experience leading remote or geographically dispersed teams preferred. Innovative mindset with a continuous improvement approach to processes and operations.
