In an increasingly complex U.S. health care environment, generating compelling evidence of value and translating that evidence into effective access strategies are critical to helping patients access our medicines. The U.S. Value & Access (V&A) Insights team enables these strategies by integrating data, advanced analytics, and business expertise to inform payer and provider engagement, pricing, and contracting decisions. The Senior Manager, Value & Access Insights – Value Evidence & Contracting Innovation will lead two complementary areas of work across the U.S. portfolio. First, this individual will shape and deliver analytics-based value-evidence strategies that address priority payer questions and strengthen the evidence used in access discussions. Second, the Senior Manager will accelerate the development, adoption, and impact of innovative tools and analytical approaches for payer and provider contracting. This is a high-visibility individual-contributor role requiring strong business judgment, analytical leadership, cross-functional influence, and the ability to move innovative capabilities from concept through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement. The position reports to the Director, Value & Access Insights. Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA site. You will work on-site 2 days a week. Key Responsibilities • Lead cross-portfolio value-evidence strategy - Partner with V&A, brand, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Medical, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify priority payer evidence needs, define analytics-based evidence strategies, and develop plans that address the clinical, economic, access, and population-level questions most relevant to payer decision-making. • Identify evidence gaps and scalable opportunities - Assess existing evidence and analytical capabilities across brands, identify common payer questions and evidence gaps, and establish reusable frameworks, methodologies, and data assets that improve consistency, speed, and quality across the portfolio. • Advance innovative contracting capabilities - Identify, evaluate, and scale innovative tools and analytical approaches that improve payer and provider contracting decisions. Translate business needs into use cases, requirements, workflows, and adoption plans in partnership with Contracting & Pricing, Finance, Market Access, brand teams, and Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI)/IT • Own and evolve priority analytics products - Lead the business and analytics roadmaps for Contracting IQ (CIQ), Price Elasticity Predictor (PEP AI), and other priority capabilities. Guide solution design, integration, testing, deployment, documentation, model monitoring, and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on explainability, usability, and measurable business impact. • Drive adoption and capability building - Develop practical workflows, training, documentation, and change-management approaches that embed new tools and methods into business decisions. Establish success measures, monitor use and impact, gather feedback, and continuously refine capabilities based on stakeholder needs. • Ad hoc contracting and pricing support: Support priority ad hoc analyses and delivery needs related to payer and provider contracting and pricing, including rapid-turn scenario assessments, bid and negotiation support, leadership requests, and development of decision-ready outputs. • Cross-portfolio innovation and stakeholder partnership: Support cross-portfolio innovation initiatives that strengthen decision support and ways of working for Contracting & Pricing (C&P), Market Access, CPE, and other key stakeholders; translate priority needs into scalable analytics and leadership-ready deliverables. Basic Qualifications • PhD or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR • Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field and 4 years of relevant experience OR • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field and 6 years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, health care analytics, market access, HEOR, and/or strategy consulting, with a strong understanding of the U.S. payer and provider landscape. • Demonstrated experience developing value-evidence strategies or analytics that support payer decision-making, access strategy, or customer engagement. • Experience leading analytical products or strategic workstreams from problem definition and solution design through deployment, adoption, impact measurement, and continuous improvement. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience applying statistical and/or machine-learning methods to elasticity, segmentation, forecasting, optimization, or related business decisions. • Working proficiency with a combination of analytical and reporting tools, such as Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel, Anaplan, or business-intelligence platforms, and familiarity with pharmaceutical contracting, reimbursement, access, utilization, and financial data. • Strong written and oral communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business implications and recommendations. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, influence without authority, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong standards for data quality, documentation, and analytical rigor. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
