Job Description Senior .NET Backend Developer (REST APIs / Microservices) Bring your expertise to a dynamic insurance organization committed to innovation and digital excellence. Collaborate with high-performing teams, work with modern technologies, and contribute to strategic initiatives that are shaping the future of enterprise technology solutions. What is in it for you: • Salaried: $65-75 per hour. • Incorporated Business Rate: $75-85 per hour. • 5-month contract with the potential for permanent employment. • Day schedule, 37.50 hours per week. • Work remotely with 1 in-office day per month. Responsibilities: • Lead and participate in the design, development, and deployment of .NET REST APIs and microservices using Docker and Kubernetes. • Ensure service designs follow approved architecture. • Learn and incorporate emerging API technologies into APIs. • Build event-driven services using Kafka. • Use and enhance DevOps tools and processes for CI/CD, including Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket, Gradle, Continuous Delivery Director, and Ansible. • Identify defects in services, debug issues, and provide effective solutions. • Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams to ensure coding, testing, debugging, and implementation activities are completed as required. • Produce and maintain documentation and records in compliance with SDLC requirements. • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interface design, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs. • Contribute to defining timelines and project plans, and analyze and estimate feasibility, cost, time, and scope. • Ensure information security standards and requirements are incorporated into all solutions. • Contribute to the ongoing support, stability, and performance of application systems in production, including problem analysis, resolution, escalation, and reporting as necessary. What you will need to succeed: Required qualifications • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science. • 5+ years of development experience and progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience. • 1+ years of experience working with Event Driven Architecture. • Strong working experience with .NET APIs, REST, SOAP, JSON, OpenAPI, Swagger, MS SQL, web services, and web hosting technologies. • Strong DevOps experience. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and problems systematically and deliver effective right-sized solutions in a timely manner. Preferred qualifications • Experience with Kubernetes, Okta, Kafka, AWS, and MongoDB. • Experience with Group Benefits products and business domains. • Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration architectures and technologies. Soft skills • Experience managing and coordinating team activities in a multi-site environment. • Strong organizational and planning skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Customer-focused mindset with customers at the center of all activities.
