Senior Network Engineer (L3, EMEA)

📍 EMEA | Remote

About Sharon AI

Sharon AI is building the infrastructure powering the next generation of artificial intelligence. Operating across AI infrastructure, high-performance compute and large-scale technology environments, Sharon AI delivers scalable, secure and commercially sustainable infrastructure solutions supporting advanced AI workloads globally.

The Role

As Senior Network Engineer (L3), you'll be responsible for the design, delivery and ongoing operation of Sharon AI's network infrastructure across its EMEA data centre and AI compute environments. You'll own network architecture, lead complex troubleshooting and incident resolution, and help drive the reliability and scalability of Sharon AI's network as the business and compute footprint grows.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll work closely with infrastructure, data centre and security teams, as well as external vendors and connectivity partners. You'll also provide technical mentorship and guidance to L1/L2 Network Engineers across the EMEA team.

This is a senior individual contributor role suited to an experienced network professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of architecture and operating in high-availability, mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation and lifecycle management of enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls and load balancing
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex network incidents across the EMEA region
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive resolution of high-impact network issues
  • Architect and lead network designs for new EMEA deployments and capacity expansions
  • Partner with infrastructure, data centre and security teams on network architecture and deployment
  • Define and maintain network security architecture, including segmentation, VPNs and firewall policy standards
  • Drive capacity planning and network scaling strategy as Sharon AI's infrastructure and compute footprint grows
  • Lead automation and tooling initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve network reliability at scale
  • Maintain and continuously improve network documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration standards and change records
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to L1/L2 Network Engineers, including reviewing designs and configurations
  • Represent the network function in technical discussions with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Support hardware, connectivity and carrier-related technical discussions across the region
  • Participate in and help structure the EMEA on-call rotation supporting critical infrastructure outside of business hours

Skills & Experience

  • 6–10+ years' experience as a Network Engineer, with progression into senior or lead technical roles
  • Strong experience within data centre, enterprise, cloud or ISP environments
  • Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VLAN and STP
  • Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise network architectures
  • Strong experience with firewalls, VPNs and load balancers at scale
  • Experience with technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, Cisco, Arista or Juniper
  • Strong track record of network incident response and root cause analysis in high-availability environments
  • Excellent understanding of network security architecture and best practice
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and technically guide less experienced engineers
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across multiple regions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or a related discipline
  • Advanced networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP or equivalent will be highly regarded

Hands-on experience with data centre and high-performance compute networking, including technologies such as InfiniBand, RDMA or low-latency fabrics, is strongly preferred. Experience within technology, cloud, AI infrastructure or high-performance compute environments will be highly regarded.

Why Join Sharon AI

  • Take ownership of network architecture across Sharon AI's growing EMEA infrastructure footprint
  • Work on highly available networks supporting advanced AI and high-performance compute workloads
  • Play a key technical role in designing and scaling new data centre and AI compute environments
  • Solve complex network challenges across a fast-growing, globally distributed infrastructure environment
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship without the constraints of a traditional management role
  • Work closely with infrastructure, data centre, security and operations teams across EMEA
  • Help build the network standards, automation and operational practices that will support Sharon AI as it scales
  • Join a team operating at the forefront of AI infrastructure and high-performance computing
