You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping nonprofit leaders understand the financial story behind their programs and funding. This Is a Thinking Role We are looking for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, asks strong questions, and can explain the why behind accounting decisions. What You’ll Actually Do Serve as the primary accounting resource for multiple nonprofit clients Lead full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes Analyze complex nonprofit accounting situations and recommend solutions Guide clients on fund restrictions, allocations, and grant reporting Communicate directly with executive directors and boards This Role Is NOT A transactional bookkeeping position A checklist-only compliance job A role where every situation has a predefined answer Who Thrives Here Like working directly with clients and advising leaders Are energized by solving non-routine accounting challenges Want autonomy and trust in your work Care about mission-driven organizations Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary accounting resource for multiple nonprofit clients Lead full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes Analyze complex nonprofit accounting situations and recommend solutions Guide clients on fund restrictions, allocations, and grant reporting Communicate directly with executive directors and boards Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 7–10 years of accounting experience with strong nonprofit exposure Deep understanding accrual accounting, GAAP, and grant compliance QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills Benefits Salary: $80,000–$90,000 depending on experience Generous paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, birthday, and volunteer time off Cell phone and internet stipend Retirement plan and health & wellness programs A culture built on trust, autonomy, and respect for professional judgment
