Senior Optimizely CMS Developer

Role Description

The Senior Optimizely CMS Developer will design, develop, and maintain high-quality Optimizely-based web solutions for Hireora’s clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and customizing Optimizely CMS features, integrating backend services, optimizing performance, and ensuring robust security and scalability. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and providing guidance on best practices in content management and enterprise web development. The developer will also troubleshoot issues, perform code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and standards. This is a full-time, remote role.

Qualifications

• Strong Software Development skills, including object-oriented programming and clean code principles.
• Hands-on experience with Content Management systems, preferably Optimizely CMS, and related content workflows.
• Knowledge of JCR or similar content repository concepts for structured content storage and retrieval.
• Experience building and consuming Web Services (REST/SOAP) for system integration.
• Proficiency with Jakarta EE or comparable enterprise Java frameworks for backend development.
• Experience with modern web technologies (e.g., ASP.NET/NET Core or equivalent stack used with Optimizely), version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and mentor other developers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; previous experience in a senior or lead developer role is highly beneficial.

• SQL
• CMS only (no Commerce)

Must‑Have Skills

• Hands‑on experience with Optimizely CMS 12 (.NET Core): content modelling, blocks, content areas, scheduled jobs, content APIs.
• Strong knowledge of C# / .NET Core and ASP.NET Core.
• Proven ability to take over an existing codebase from another vendor — onboarding quickly, stabilising, and documenting effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience in manufacturing or B2B domains.
• Familiarity with Optimizely DXP on Azure.
• Knowledge of headless/front‑end integrations.
• Optimizely certification.
