This is a remote position.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex global payroll transformation initiatives for a large international organization.
In this role, you will drive end-to-end payroll system implementations across multiple countries while leading discovery activities related to Payroll, Employee Life Cycle, and Time & Attendance. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, compliance, and a seamless transition into operational support.
One of the key success factors for this role is exceptional stakeholder management. The Project Manager will work closely with multiple stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance, vendors, and local business teams, making strong communication, influence, and relationship-building skills essential.
This is a strategic yet hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys leading global transformation programs while remaining actively involved in execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end payroll implementation projects from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
- Drive country-specific discovery workshops to assess current processes and define future-state solutions.
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and governance.
- Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, and executive status reporting.
- Coordinate closely with HR, IT, Finance, payroll vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Manage payroll system implementations, integrations, and data migration activities.
- Ensure compliance with local payroll legislation, tax regulations, and internal governance.
- Facilitate workshops, gather business requirements, and document functional specifications.
- Oversee SIT, UAT, parallel payroll runs, defect management, and deployment activities.
- Monitor project budgets, resources, timelines, and risks to ensure successful delivery.
- Support change management, training, knowledge transfer, and operational handover.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and project sponsors.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience within Payroll, HR Transformation, or HRIS implementations.
- Proven experience leading payroll implementation projects in managed services environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing Workday-to-Payroll integrations.
- Solid understanding of payroll operations, compliance, and governance.
- Experience working with global, cross-functional teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Strada payroll implementations.
- Experience supporting divestments, carve-outs, or business separation projects.
- Experience working in complex, multinational organizations.
- Relevant Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
