ICODOS is a clean-tech company developing deep-tech solutions to combat climate change and create a more sustainable future. We are seeking a Senior Piping Engineer (m/f/d) for a full-time remote role based in Spain.
Your mission
Own the piping design and plant layout for ICODOS plants — from defining design criteria, in-house standard specifications and typical arrangements through delivery of robust, replicable and cost-effective plant designs.
What you will achieve
• Own ICODOS plant 3D modelling end to end, including piping layouts, general arrangement drawings and isometrics drafted from project specifications and P&IDs, incorporating equipment specifications, datasheets and vendor data.
• Produce standard project deliverables and ad-hoc documents such as MTOs, line lists, reports and cross-document summaries on schedule and in compliance with ASME B31.3, EN 13480 and applicable international standards.
• Ensure piping design quality through clash checks, support for Inspection and Test Plans, and on-site visits and inspections.
• Contribute to ICODOS plant-layout standards, typical arrangements and specifications focused on cost efficiency and replicability across plant size categories.
• Support in-house engineering automation and streamline the ICODOS plant-development process.
What you bring
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in piping design and layout within plant engineering, ideally in the chemical process sector.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS or E3D.
• Strong knowledge of piping design codes and standards, including ASME B31.3 and EN 13480.
• A proven track record in 3D design reviews and resolving multidisciplinary interface challenges.
• Expertise in layout optimisation for accessibility, safety, maintainability and material-cost optimisation. Power-to-X experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience across piping deliverables, including plant layout, piping materials, stress and 3D models, on EPC projects in the chemical or petrochemical sector.
• Familiarity with applicable international codes and standards, including ASME, API, PED and EN.
• Ownership mentality, hands-on delivery, systematic problem solving, engineering rigor, process-safety awareness and strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
What we offer
• The opportunity to participate through virtual shares in ICODOS's growth.
• Flexibility to choose the equipment, work environment and tools you need to do your best work.
• The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on climate tech and sustainable e-methanol production.
• Ongoing professional development and training.
• A dynamic, supportive and collaborative environment.
• A diverse and inclusive culture.
ICODOS is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates. Our office is in Mannheim, Germany, and our projects span Europe, Uruguay, Chile and India.
