  • Lead the development, maintenance and management of complex construction project programmes.
  • Ensure programme content is compliant with planning procedures, contractual requirements and project objectives.
  • Identify planning scope, key project constraints, major quantities and factors influencing project delivery.
  • Develop and agree optimum construction methodologies, sequencing and delivery strategies during tender stages.
  • Produce high-quality planning deliverables including programmes, presentations, reports and planning philosophies.
  • Develop and maintain Contract Programmes throughout project lifecycles.
  • Analyse and monitor project critical paths, identifying risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Manage project baselines and support change control processes.
  • Support effective resource planning, including labour, plant, equipment and materials.
  • Monitor programme performance through project reporting, data analysis and KPI tracking.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic planning oversight and mentor Assistant, Trainee and Planner level colleagues.

Who we're looking for

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong data management and reporting capabilities.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Leadership and mentoring capability.

Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of planning software such as Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction project management principles and best practice.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, planning and programme management.
  • Understanding of tender documentation, contracts and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of risk management techniques including programme risk analysis and schedule risk assessment.

Experience

  • Significant experience producing and managing construction programmes across complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading planning activities within construction or infrastructure environments.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other planning professionals is desirable.
