Lead the fight against one of the largest preventable causes of cancer in the UK. £5 6 ,000 - £62,000 per annum plus benefits Reports to : Prevention L ead Directorate: Policy, Information & Communications Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week Location: Stratford, London / Home-based. Cancer Research UK is not able to offer visa sponsorship. At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer. Obesity is one of the biggest preventable causes of cancer in the UK and is linked to at least 13 different cancer types . We are looking for an ambitious and influential Senior Policy Manager to lead Cancer Research UK's obesity prevention policy work and help drive meaningful change across the UK. What will I be doing? • Leading the development of high-impact obesity prevention policy positions, consultation responses and policy outputs. • Providing strategic policy advice and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders across Cancer Research UK. • Leading complex cross- organisational projects involving evidence generation, analysis, public affairs, campaigns and communications teams. • Building and maintaining strong relationships with government, academia, public health organisations and other external stakeholders. • Representing Cancer Research UK in policy forums, stakeholder groups, advisory boards, roundtables and media opportunities. • Providing project leadership and matrix management to ensure the successful delivery of strategic priorities. What are we looking for? • Significant experience in policy, public affairs, public health or a related field, with substantial expertise in obesity prevention or public health policy. • A strong understanding of UK political processes, policymaking and influencing strategies. • Excellent analytical and research skills, with a proven ability to translate complex evidence into clear policy recommendations. • Demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders and building effective external partnerships. • Strong strategic thinking skills with experience shaping and delivering policy programmes . • Excellent communication, project management and leadership skills, including experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
