Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain advanced Power BI reports and dashboards that give Total Synergy customers real clarity over their data.
Get hands-on with DAX, writing advanced measures and calculations — from time intelligence to calculated tables.
Shape robust, well-structured data models (think star schema) that keep reports accurate and fast.
Write and optimise complex SQL queries and build and maintain the views that power our reporting.
Own database and ETL platform administration tasks like configuring new workflows, optimising database performance through indexing, and deploying new customer databases.
Partner directly with clients — understanding their requirements, troubleshooting issues, and presenting solutions that land.
Bring your problem-solving instincts to bear on complex data challenges, thinking outside the box to find the best answer.
Collaborate with the team and wider business, sharing knowledge and helping us all get better at what we do.
Spot opportunities to use AI tools to work smarter — in Power BI, in SQL, and in your day-to-day.
Qualifications/ Experience
What you need to succeed
5+ years’ experience developing advanced Power BI reporting solutions.
Advanced DAX skills — you write complex measures and know how to optimise for performance.
Strong data modelling experience, with a solid grasp of star schema design and best practice.
Advanced SQL skills — from writing and optimising complex queries to developing views and handling database administration.
Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders to gather requirements and present solutions with confidence.
Sharp problem-solving instincts and the creativity to find answers to complex data challenges.
Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive as part of a small, distributed team.
Nice to have
Experience with third-party Power BI tools such as Tabular Editor and DAX Studio.
A genuine interest in using AI tools to sharpen your Power BI/SQL work and everyday productivity.
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) or similar certification.
