For a European organization in Rome, Italy, we are urgently looking for a Senior Power Platform Governance & Automation Specialist.


EU candidates are welcome to apply. This is a Full Remote role. Candidates need to be based in Europe and in possession of a valid work permit due to occasional travel requirements. Candidates need to be willing to go to Rome for the start of the project and when the project requires it. Work permits are not provided.


This position is open for contractors. Candidates need to be fluent in English.


The specialist will lead the governance, controls, monitoring and ongoing evolution of the Microsoft Power Platform environment, ensuring that Power Apps, Power Automate solutions, Dataverse and connectors are secure, scalable, compliant and effectively managed.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain enterprise-level Microsoft Power Platform governance, controls and guardrails;
  • Define and manage the Power Platform environment strategy, including Development, Test and Production environments;
  • Design and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, connector governance and security controls;
  • Configure and manage Managed Environments and tenant-level Power Platform administration;
  • Implement and maintain the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) toolkit;
  • Establish monitoring, alerting and reporting across Power Automate, Power Apps and Dataverse;
  • Monitor platform usage, capacity, licensing consumption, flow failures and compliance;
  • Define the target-state Power Platform architecture and migration strategy for existing applications and flows;
  • Develop and maintain the technology roadmap, architecture standards and best practices for low-code development and automation;
  • Lead the design, implementation and modernization of Power Automate flows and Power Platform solutions;
  • Review and rationalize existing Power Apps and flows, addressing ownership, security, reliability and governance issues;
  • Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices for Power Platform solutions;
  • Establish source control and controlled deployment processes across Development, Test and Production environments;
  • Implement and support automated deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes;
  • Provide technical architecture and design assurance for Power Platform projects, migrations, upgrades and vendor-delivered solutions;
  • Ensure appropriate error handling, logging, security and operational support for enterprise automations;
  • Support integrations with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID and external APIs/connectors;
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors;
  • Maintain architecture, governance and operational documentation;
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support the continuous improvement of the Power Platform environment.


Profile:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field;
  • +10 years of professional experience working with Microsoft technologies in enterprise environments;
  • +5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Power Automate;
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and Power BI;
  • Proven experience establishing enterprise-level Power Platform governance and controls;
  • Strong Power Platform administration experience, including environment strategy, DLP policies and connector management;
  • Hands-on experience with Managed Environments and tenant-level administration;
  • Experience implementing and managing the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) toolkit;
  • Strong experience establishing monitoring, alerting and reporting for enterprise Power Platform environments;
  • Experience monitoring capacity, licensing, usage, reliability and compliance;
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power Platform ALM, including Solutions, source control and deployment pipelines;
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade Power Automate flows and Power Apps;
  • Good understanding of security, identity and integration across Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint and Microsoft Entra ID;
  • Experience with APIs, connectors and enterprise integration patterns;
  • Experience defining solution architectures, technical standards and technology roadmaps;
  • Experience leading solutions from requirements and architecture through development, testing, deployment and operational handover;
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to explain technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Experience working with external vendors and multidisciplinary teams;
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications are an advantage;
  • Candidates need to be based in Europe with a valid work permit;
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Rome, Italy;
  • Fluent in English.
