ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a leading international organisation operating within the sports and digital entertainment ecosystem, managing large-scale digital platforms and experiences used by audiences across multiple markets.

As part of the continued evolution of its digital ecosystem, our client is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to support the strategy, delivery and optimisation of high-traffic gaming and digital engagement products.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is not a purely business-focused Product Manager position.

You'll sit at the intersection of Product, Technology, Business and external development partners, owning product direction while ensuring solutions are technically scalable, sustainable and aligned with the wider digital strategy.

You'll work across digital engagement products such as fantasy games, prediction experiences, quizzes, casual games and gamification platforms, helping turn product ideas into scalable digital experiences.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Own and maintain product roadmaps across multiple digital gaming products.
• Prioritise initiatives, dependencies, technical improvements and product evolution.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Manage product backlogs, sprint and release planning.
• Work closely with architects, engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Manage and challenge external development agencies and technology suppliers.
• Review technical solutions, estimates, scopes, milestones and delivery plans.
• Coordinate integrations across APIs, SDKs, authentication, analytics, CRM/MarTech, data services, CMS and digital platforms.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, scalability constraints and technical debt.
• Support launch readiness and high-traffic periods.
• Track product KPIs across engagement, conversion, retention, performance, stability and availability.
• Drive continuous product optimisation based on user and performance data.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Ownership or Digital Product Management.
• Proven experience managing high-traffic B2C digital products.
• Strong understanding of digital product architecture and integrations.
• Comfortable discussing and challenging technical solutions with engineering teams and suppliers.
• Experience managing external development agencies or technology vendors.
• Strong roadmap, backlog and prioritisation experience.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING

You don't need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable working with concepts such as:

APIs • SDKs • Integrations • Authentication • Analytics • CRM/MarTech • Data Services • CMS • Web & Mobile Platforms • Cloud • Scalability • Security • Performance

NICE TO HAVE

Experience within sports, gaming, fantasy sports, prediction games, gamification, media or fan engagement platforms will be a strong advantage.

Experience delivering large-scale consumer products during high-traffic or event-driven periods is also highly valued.

• ⚽ Occasional flexibility around major live events and peak-traffic periods
• ✈️ Occasional travel within Europe
• Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Portugal. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
