Position : Senior Project Manager – IT Infrastructure Projects Location : Berlin / Leipzig / Bonn / Meckenheim / München (You can choose one of these locations) Field : Defence Type : Full-time/20% Remote Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex IT infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on data centers and IT system migration . The role covers the complete project lifecycle, from project setup and planning through implementation, monitoring, controlling, and successful completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects meet defined schedule, cost, quality, and delivery objectives while coordinating internal teams, customers, suppliers, and operational stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery Lead IT infrastructure projects from initial setup through successful completion. Ensure achievement of project objectives regarding time, cost, quality, and scope . Develop and maintain detailed project plans and provide continuous project status transparency. Ensure compliance with project-specific implementation requirements and governance standards. Independently define, structure, coordinate, and monitor project work packages. Coordinate effort estimations and prepare service descriptions. Prepare data analyses and decision-making documents for stakeholders and management. Stakeholder & Communication Management Act as the central point of contact for customers, operations, suppliers, and field service teams . Actively manage stakeholder expectations and relationships. Plan, prepare, and conduct internal and external workshops. Lead project meetings, status meetings, and coordination sessions. Ensure clear and structured communication throughout the project lifecycle. Risk & Change Management Identify and coordinate project dependencies. Monitor project risks and initiate appropriate mitigation measures. Coordinate and manage project changes and support structured change management. Identify potential disruptions and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. Controlling & Continuous Improvement Monitor project costs and ensure compliance with approved budgets. Manage project resources and support effective resource planning. Conduct lessons-learned activities. Identify and implement improvements to project working methods and processes. Ensure structured project documentation and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science , or a comparable discipline. Alternatively, completed commercial or recognized IT-related vocational training combined with relevant professional experience. Candidates without a university degree should have at least 6 years of relevant professional experience . Certification in a recognized project management standard, at least equivalent to IPMA Level D , or comparable qualification. Basic knowledge of IT Service Management / ITIL . ITIL Foundation certification is desirable. Strong knowledge of common project management standards and methodologies. Required Professional Experience At least 6 years of experience leading IT projects , with a minimum allocation of 0.6 FTE . At least 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure and IT system migration projects , with a minimum allocation of 0.6 FTE . At least 4 years of experience as a project team member in IT projects focused on data centers or data center infrastructure , with a minimum allocation of 0.6 FTE . At least 6 years of practical experience as a Project Manager using classical, hybrid, and/or agile project management methodologies. Proven experience in: Project planning and scheduling Milestone and dependency management Budget and cost control Risk and change management Resource management Quality management Stakeholder management Supplier coordination Project reporting and controlling Experience preparing project plans, effort estimations, service descriptions, analyses, and management decision documents. Tools & Technical Skills Practical experience with: Jira or comparable project management tools Microsoft Office Microsoft Project Project planning and reporting tools IT infrastructure and migration environments IT service management processes Language Requirements German: C1 English: B1 Language proficiency should correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) . Strong organizational and analytical capabilities. High level of responsibility and reliability. Additional Requirements Willingness to travel for business purposes, up to 60% of working time . Willingness to work in a mobile/hybrid environment, with approximately 20% mobile working on average. Willingness to undergo a potential SÜ2 security screening .
