Newfire is seeking a Senior Python Engineer What's the Project? Join our team as a Python Engineer building high-impact, real-time clinical workflow solutions that transform inpatient care environments. You will work on a robust backend architecture powered by Python, leading the development of scalable services, API integrations, and core platform capabilities. In this role, you will take ownership of shaping data pipelines to deliver seamless operations for modern healthcare facilities. Your day-to-day activities: Operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment Design, build and maintain complex products by determining current limitations and coming up with creative solutions Proactively designing & implementing integrations with applications and services Ensure the best practices in code development is followed, help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization Improve the performance, maintainability, and operations of the codebase Collaborate with other engineers to review code Collaborate with the team to identify and clarify detailed requirements Support with Scrum/Agile software development approach (e.g., sprint, standups, retros, planning, pointing, grooming, etc.) Strong Plus: Healthcare / clinical software experience You’re a perfect match if you have: 5+ years of professional coding experience using Python Solid Object Oriented design and development skills Good knowledge of programming patterns Experience with AWS Experience working with databases (Postgres) and query optimization Experience in API design (REST API, OpenAPI) Experience in building scalable systems Good understanding of security/access control, scalability, high availability, and concurrency patterns Code management: GIT Experience in working with Scrum teams At least Upper Intermediate spoken and written English As a Senior team member, you will be expected to actively participate in our hiring processes by serving on interview panels for future roles across the company Please note that employment will be contingent upon providing documentation verifying your legal work authorization in the country of residence, in accordance with applicable law.
