Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement and Regulation Officer, the chosen candidate will play a key role in ensuring Pinergy meets its regulatory and compliance obligations while proactively influencing and responding to developments across the Irish energy sector. The role is responsible for monitoring and interpreting regulatory and policy changes, leading regulatory compliance and assurance activities, managing regulatory engagement, and providing strategic regulatory advice across the business. The Senior Regulatory Analyst acts as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, helping to shape business decisions, support innovation, and ensure regulatory obligations are met in an efficient and effective manner. Responsibilities: Regulatory Strategy, Policy, and Market Analysis Lead the monitoring, analysis and interpretation of regulatory and policy developments from the CRU, SEAI, EAI, WEI, Government Departments, and other relevant regulatory and industry bodies. Assess the impact of regulatory and policy developments on the business and provide recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making. Lead the preparation and coordination of regulatory consultation responses, along with the junior regulatory analyst, ensuring effective engagement with internal subject matter experts and timely submission to regulators and market operators. Produce high-quality reports, briefings and updates for senior management on emerging regulatory risks, opportunities and industry developments. Regulatory Compliance and Assurance Lead the coordination of internal and external regulatory audits, supporting the junior regulatory analyst with evidence gathering, documentation management, reporting and follow-up actions. Monitor compliance with regulatory obligations, licence conditions and industry standards, ensuring timely identification, escalation and resolution of compliance issues. Oversee the tracking and completion of audit findings and regulatory actions, driving accountability across the business. Drive continuous improvement of compliance frameworks, assurance processes and internal controls to achieve regulatory best practice. Regulatory Operations and Governance Manage day-to-day regulatory engagement, acting as a primary point of contact for the CRU, DCEE, and market operators. Lead the development, review and maintenance of regulatory documentation, policies, procedures, customer communications, website content and operational guidance to ensure ongoing compliance. Ensure regulatory obligations are effectively embedded into business processes and operational activities. Business and Regulatory Advisory Provide expert regulatory advice and guidance across the organisation, supporting business units in navigating the regulatory environment and delivering compliant commercial outcomes. Ensure regulatory requirements are considered throughout the development and implementation of new products, services, systems and strategic initiatives. Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements across the business, coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure successful delivery. Lead the preparation and delivery of regulatory presentations, management reports, internal communications and training sessions to enhance organisational understanding of regulatory obligations. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, regulatory excellence and accountability across the organisation. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members where appropriate, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development. Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the objectives of the Regulatory Affairs function and the wider business. Education and Experience: Education : Bachelor’s degree in Law, Policy, Economics, Compliance, Sustainability, or a related field. Experience : Experience in the energy industry, a regulated industry, or a policy/regulatory environment. Experience in compliance, auditing, or process improvement would be an advantage. Knowledge of the Irish energy sector is preferred. Technical Skills: Understanding of the Irish energy regulatory framework and regulatory governance. Excellent analytical, research and policy analysis skills. Strong report writing, presentation and stakeholder communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using compliance management, audit or governance systems would be advantageous. Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
