We are looking for a Senior Robotics Software & Research Intern who is ready to take ownership of meaningful technical work across open-source robotics, simulation, research, and integrated proof-of-concept projects.
Senior Interns work with greater independence than Junior Interns and may contribute to architecture decisions, technical design, benchmark development, software releases, research experiments, code review, and mentorship.

• Warehouse or factory simulation
• Autonomous mobile robot simulation
• Robot perception and computer vision
• Industrial inspection
• Edge AI deployment
• Robot-learning benchmarks
• World-model experiments
• Sim-to-real evaluation
• Dataset engineering
• Research reproducibility
• Integrated proof-of-concepts
Key responsibilities:
• Own an assigned technical module or project area
• Prepare technical design and architecture documents
• Convert project objectives into implementable GitHub issues
• Build reusable and well-tested software components
• Review pull requests and maintain engineering standards
• Design and run robotics or AI experiments
• Develop simulation environments and evaluation pipelines
• Build datasets, benchmarks, or model-training workflows
• Support ROS 2 and simulator integration
• Develop perception or edge-AI components
• Analyze technical limitations and failure cases
• Mentor Junior Interns and external contributors
• Contribute to open-source projects
• Support technical reports, demonstrations, releases, workshops, and POCs
Minimum requirements:
• Strong Python programming ability
• Practical software or research project experience
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub
• Ability to independently debug technical problems
• Experience writing structured technical documentation
• Understanding of testing and reproducibility
• Ability to review other contributors' work
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Ability to support or mentor less-experienced contributors
Preferred experience:
Experience in several of the following is desirable:
ROS 2, Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, OpenCV, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LeRobot, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, computer vision, robot perception, autonomous navigation, digital twins, Docker, CI/CD, ONNX, NVIDIA Jetson, dataset engineering, experiment tracking, or research-paper preparation.
Applicants are not expected to have every listed skill.

The internship is portfolio-first and contribution-driven. Senior Interns may build verifiable evidence through GitHub contributions, technical designs, architecture documents, code reviews, releases, simulation environments, benchmarks, dataset/model assets, research experiments, technical reports, POCs, and demonstrations.
