The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Rust Developer to architect, build, and optimize high-performance, low-latency systems. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex infrastructure and software requirements into highly deterministic, production-grade Rust code where performance, safety, and predictability are paramount.

You will step into a technical leadership role, guiding the evolution of our backend microservices and data pipelines. This is a position for a developer who is passionate about zero-cost abstractions, idiomatic code, and pushing the boundaries of what systems engineering can achieve in highly concurrent environments.

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of professional experience writing production-scale Rust, with a total of 6+ years in general software engineering (e.g., C/C++, Go, or Java systems).
• Deep practical knowledge of asynchronous programming in Rust using frameworks like Tokio, async-std, or Actix, including safe multi-threading practices.
• Strong experience with memory management optimization, lifetime tracking, and smart pointers (Rc, Arc, RefCell), with a zero-leak mindset.
• Proven track record building secure, distributed microservices using web frameworks such as Axum, Rocket, or Warp, integrated with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Comfort working with serialization layers (Serde), FFI (Foreign Function Interfaces), and compiling to WebAssembly (Wasm) for cross-platform execution.
• Deep familiarity containerizing high-performance services via Docker and orchestrating them within cloud-native topologies (Kubernetes, AWS/GCP).
• Strong verbal and written English; comfortable leading technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Time zone: CET (+/- 3 hours). We are unable to consider applications from candidates in other time zones.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with zero-copy data architectural patterns or embedded Rust systems.
• Background in high-frequency trading (HFT) environments, networking protocols (gRPC, WebSockets), or complex blockchain/cryptographic ledger development.
• Active involvement in the open-source Rust community or authoring custom crates.
• Familiarity with profiling and debugging utilities like gdb, valgrind, perf, or cargo tools (cargo-expand, cargo-audit).

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, highly concurrent, and low-latency systems applications and microservices.
• Profile, benchmark, and optimize bottlenecks across internal execution paths, database queries, and data serialization layers.
• Maintain a pristine codebase by enforcing idiomatic patterns, strong typing strategies, and high test coverage utilizing standard cargo testing frameworks.
• Partner with Frontend and Platform Engineering squads to define high-performance API schemas and seamless system boundaries.
• Conduct technical code reviews and serve as an internal domain expert on Rust features, memory management, and deployment best practices.
