For our enterprise client, we are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Basis Engineer to join an SAP Platform team responsible for both day-to-day operations and strategic SAP initiatives.

About the Role

The role combines hands-on SAP Basis administration with project delivery across cloud migration, platform modernization, upgrades, security remediation and SAP landscape optimization. You will work in a complex enterprise SAP environment and collaborate closely with SAP application, infrastructure, cloud, security and integration teams. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being technically hands-on while also contributing to larger transformation and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support enterprise SAP landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BTP, SuccessFactors, Fiori and SAP HANA-based systems
• Monitor SAP environments and proactively identify performance, availability and stability issues
• Troubleshoot complex technical incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Support incident, problem and change management
• Execute system copies, client copies, system refreshes and transport management

Plan and execute:

• SAP upgrades
• Support Package implementations
• Kernel upgrades
• Patching and technical maintenance
• Participate in SAP cloud migration and modernization initiatives
• Support migration of SAP workloads to AWS, including AWS-native environments and SAP Private Cloud Edition / RISE
• Participate in migration planning, technical implementation, testing, cutovers and post-go-live support
• Support SAP security remediation and system hardening
• Implement SAP Security Notes and technical corrections
• Ensure SAP environments remain aligned with internal security, compliance and audit requirements
• Support SAP integrations and communication interfaces, including: RFC, HTTP/S, IAM and authentication, Certificates, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Web Dispatcher, Middleware and integration services
• Contribute to technical design and implementation decisions
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and system documentation
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization and operational improvement

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience as an SAP Basis Engineer / SAP Basis Administrator
• Senior-level experience supporting production SAP environments
• Strong knowledge of SAP Basis administration and troubleshooting
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA environments
• Experience with SAP upgrades, patching, kernel upgrades and technical maintenance
• Practical experience with Linux-based SAP environments
• Experience with system copies, refreshes and SAP transport management
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Understanding of SAP security, authentication, certificates and technical security concepts
• Experience working with SAP integrations and communication interfaces
• Ability to work independently in a complex enterprise environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure, security, application and integration teams
• Good communication skills and professional working proficiency in English
