We are an AI-forward engineering team. We believe in maximizing leverage by using AI tools to write the bulk of our code. However, we know that AI requires brilliant human orchestrators. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can design the blueprints, direct the AI, and act as the ultimate gatekeeper for quality, security, and reliability.
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Delvee, your day-to-day will focus less on typing boilerplate code and more on high-level architecture, complex infrastructure design, and rigorous code review. You will be the human brain behind our automated output, ensuring everything we ship is scalable, secure, and rock-solid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect & Innovate: Design scalable, privacy-centric solutions for high-demand streaming, real-time messaging, and secure payment processing.
- AI Orchestration: Utilize advanced AI coding tools to generate complex systems, shifting your focus from manual typing to prompt engineering, system design, and execution.
- Reliability & Security Gatekeeping: Act as the final line of defense. Rigorously review, test, and validate AI-generated code to ensure it meets our strict standards for security, privacy, and performance.
- Infrastructure: Build and maintain the complex cloud infrastructure required to support high-bandwidth media streaming and low-latency global communications.
- Modernization: Safely interface with and systematically migrate away from our legacy systems.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and elevate the engineering team. Champion best practices in an AI-assisted development environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 7+ years of deep software engineering experience. You must have a robust history of hand-writing complex systems so you know exactly what to look for when the AI generates it.
- Tech Stack Mastery: Fluency across our core stack is required: Next.js, React, Node, Encore (TypeScript backend framework), and PostgreSQL Alongside our legacy platforms including Vue3 and PHP.
- Legacy Systems: Comfort navigating and updating legacy codebases while we aggressively modernize.
- Architectural Mastery: Exceptional understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and database optimization.
- AI Fluency: Proven experience integrating AI into your daily engineering workflow to dramatically multiply your output.
- Security Mindset: A strong commitment to privacy-first architecture. Experience building secure systems that protect user data (bonus points for familiarity with compliance standards like HIPAA or GDPR and other legal compliance such as DMCA).
- Domain Knowledge (Bonus): Experience with video streaming protocols (WebRTC, HLS), high-concurrency WebSocket architecture, or scalable e-commerce backends is a major plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions remotely.
