Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be responsible for: Delivering high-quality software on time using modern cloud architectures. Collaborating closely with teammates and providing mentorship to help the team consistently deliver high-quality work. Qualifications 5–8+ years of experience as a backend software engineer, primarily using Python, C#, or Go , along with strong JavaScript/TypeScript experience. Proven experience designing and building large-scale, high-volume web applications , including well-designed APIs, high-throughput data pipelines, efficient algorithms, and cloud-based architectures. Strong experience with microservices architectures , including API design and management, messaging and event-driven systems (SQS, SNS, Kafka, etc.), and scalable data consumption patterns. Strong experience working with relational databases , including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, or similar technologies. Experience with in-memory data stores such as Redis or Memcached and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or CouchDB. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD and DevOps pipelines using GitHub or similar code repositories, along with knowledge of secure coding practices such as OWASP and SANS. Experience with web scraping , including request-based scraping and browser automation, as well as techniques for working with sites that employ bot-detection and anti-automation measures. Experience building platforms that deliver individualized or personalized content using repeatable, data-driven patterns. Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and a commitment to continuous improvement. Demonstrated ability to deliver work independently while collaborating effectively and seeking support when needed. Strong team-oriented mindset , with an emphasis on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , including integrity, patience, and empathy. Technical Skills Strong AWS experience , particularly with Lambda, SAM/Serverless, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, RDS, Airflow, Glue, EC2, and S3. Strong relational database design and development experience , preferably with high-volume datasets containing millions of records or more. Strong Python experience ; candidates with strong C# experience and a willingness to work extensively in Python are also encouraged. Strong experience with modern web scraping technologies , such as Requests, Playwright, Puppeteer, Bright Data, and Scrapy. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices .
