The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. As an Android engineer on this team, you'll build the native mobile experiences that bring skills intelligence, career pathing, and AI-powered learning to millions of professionals, at the moments that matter most for their careers. Working closely with product, design, and our web and backend counterparts, you'll turn ideas like AI-driven role recommendations and personalized learning plans into fast, reliable, native experiences — reaching millions of employees across tens of thousands of companies worldwide - and helping both people and organizations navigate a changing world of work. Responsibilities You will design and execute user-facing features for the native LinkedIn app on Android devices by leveraging mobile operating system frameworks for multi-threading, persisting data, and managing user experience and graphics across multiple screen sizes. You will use the latest cutting edge technologies and libraries suggested by Google for building responsive native apps for Android. You will build scalable native mobile apps using LinkedIn’s internal libraries. You will produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration. You will provide technical leadership, driving best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs. Basic Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions. Preferred Qualifications 6+ years of relevant work experience MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline Expertise in API design and client/server communication; reliable asynchronous networking for Android apps Strong concurrency and performance optimization; multithreading fundamentals and effective use of Android Studio profiling/debugging tools Track record of automated tests (JUnit, instrumentation/Espresso, Robolectric, snapshot) and maintaining CI quality gates Advanced Kotlin proficiency; working knowledge of Java for interoperability Knowledge of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, MVI) Suggest Skills Kotlin Java Swift Objective-C Javascript HTML/CSS Web Development India Disability Policy LinkedIn is an equal employment opportunity employer offering opportunities to all job seekers, including individuals with disabilities.
