What You Will Do: You will lead the design, development, and maintaining of flight-critical embedded software for military and commercial aviation solutions and avionics products. You will utilize embedded Linux operating systems, C/C++ code, networking protocols, device drivers, hardware interface tools, simulations, and integrated development environments in creative ways for this new product. You will specify requirements, implement software, develop test procedures, perform verification, and complete artifacts for certification. You will take ownership of the technical, schedule, and cost aspects of team tasks and complete work in accordance with the project plan while assisting others in task planning and execution. You will contribute to the development of a project plan, including estimating task size, working dependencies, and discovering risks and opportunities. You will participate in, and potentially lead, an engineering team by organizing tasks, coordinating team efforts, asking questions, communicating status, raising issues, brainstorming ideas, helping others, practicing active listening, and promoting a collaborative environment. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field C/C++ programming experience, preferably in a real-time, embedded software. 2+ years’ experience leading a software team through a development process. 8+ years identifying complex problems, evaluating options, and developing solutions for software executing on real-time operating systems. 8+ years’ experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and development of solutions. Qualifications We Prefer: 2+ years DO-178B experience (DAL A or B preferred) 2+ years’ experience with real-time operating systems (VxWorks or LynxOS) 8+ years’ experience with software engineering processes and procedures, including writing software requirements, software design and implementation, functional and integration testing, writing test cases and test procedures, and software delivery support. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
