At Yomly, a payroll run that ships with a defect isn't a bug ticket — it's someone's salary landing wrong. We build HR and payroll software for enterprises across the Gulf, and testing is how we protect that promise.

We're building a test function that catches defects before customers do, through automation rather than manual repetition. You'd own that work across mobile, web, and the services behind them, with real room to shape how testing is done here rather than inherit it fully formed. This is a remote role working with an engineering team centred on the Gulf.

The role

You own the automated quality of the product end to end — building and maintaining the frameworks that test our Flutter mobile apps, our web front end, and the GraphQL and service layers underneath. You decide what to automate, how to keep suites fast and stable, and where a test belongs in the pipeline. You're the most senior test engineering voice in the company, and developers look to you for how testing should be done.

You're an individual contributor who leads through the work, not through a team. You write the tests, fix the flaky ones, wire quality gates into CI/CD, and leave the codebase safer to change than you found it.

What you'll own

• Architect and maintain end-to-end test automation across Flutter mobile, web UI, API, and backend services
• Grow automated coverage of the payroll and HR workflows where a defect does real damage
• Embed testing into the development cycle so regressions are caught as code changes, not weeks later
• Wire quality gates into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline) so every release meets agreed bars before it ships
• Contribute to incident response and root cause analysis, turning each production failure into a test that stops it recurring
• Treat employee, payroll, and tenant data as confidential by default — testing with masked or synthetic data, keeping tenant boundaries absolute, and working within ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2, and PDPL/GDPR controls
• Raise the testing skill of the engineers around you through pairing, review, and clear examples

How we'll measure the first 12 months

Materially higher automated coverage of critical payroll and HR workflows, regression cycles running in the pipeline rather than by hand, fewer customer-impacting defects reaching production, and quality gates live in CI/CD with agreed criteria for what may ship.

What you'll need

• A track record owning test automation end to end in a SaaS or enterprise environment — not contributing at the edges
• Strong programming skills for automation (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or similar)
• Substantial hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
• Solid mobile automation experience (Flutter, iOS/Android) with tools such as Maestro or Appium
• Solid API test automation experience, comfortable testing GraphQL and service layers
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Sound discretion handling sensitive employee and payroll data
• The self-direction to do this well as a remote member of a distributed team

Nice to have: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/AWS CDK), performance testing (JMeter, K6, Locust), database validation, observability tooling, accessibility testing, or direct exposure to SOC 2/ISO 27001/PDPL environments.
