Senior Software Engineer – Java & Python Send CV We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our technical team on a contractual basis. This role involves backend development, systems and instrument integration, testing and deployment of new product feature releases, and providing general technical support as needed. Location : The role requires being on-site in South San Francisco (SSF) three days per week, so it follows a hybrid work arrangement. There may also be some overlap required with Pacific Time working hours. Responsibilities : Collaborate with the technical team to design, develop, and implement new features and systems integrations Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications by writing efficient, reusable, and reliable code Participate in the testing and deployment of new product releases to ensure quality and performance standards are met Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues as they arise Work with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges What we expect : Strong experience with Java and Python for backend development Experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for deployment SQL experience for database management Experience with Git-based version control systems (GitLab, GitHub, or similar) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team Demonstrated ability to engage with scientific stakeholders, ideally within chemistry or related scientific domains, to understand challenges and inform technical strategy Nice to have : Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment Experience working with AWS environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience with automation systems or software used in chemical synthesis workflows Familiarity with TypeScript and front-end development A proactive approach to learning new technologies and continuously improving technical skills We offer : Competitive compensation Remote work Flexible working hours A team with excellent tech expertise If you don't see an open position that suits your skills stack and/or professional background but you are interested in working with us — please send your CV to [email protected] .
