As a Cloud-Native Scientific Platform Engineer , you’ll take ownership of the reliability, scalability, and automation of complex scientific workflows. You will help ensure that Nextflow pipelines, HPC jobs, and AWS-powered analytics run smoothly across hybrid infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Cloud, DevOps & Platform Engineering Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot Nextflow pipelines for large-scale multi-omics workloads Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for cloud infrastructure and scientific workflow deployments Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) Design and integrate AWS services like EC2, S3, ECS, Batch, RDS, KMS into production environments Ensure security, compliance, auditing, and reproducibility of scientific compute workloads Scientific Computing & HPC Support and optimize high-performance computing jobs spanning on-prem HPC clusters and AWS Improve the reliability and throughput of analytical workflows processing petabytes of data Collaborate with researchers to translate scientific needs into robust engineering solutions Software Engineering & Collaboration Contribute to the design of microservices enabling scientific data exploration and visualization Help build distributed systems supporting FAIR data principles Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering problems end-to-end Requirements Must-Have 5+ years in DevOps, CloudOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering Solid experience with AWS services and cloud architecture Strong skills with Terraform Proficiency in Python Strong Linux fundamentals, troubleshooting, and automation mindset Ability to work with complex systems in distributed environments Nice-to-Have Exposure to bioinformatics, genomics, or multi-omics workflows Hands-on experience operating Nextflow pipelines Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Experience with monitoring and observability tooling Understanding of FAIR data principles , GxP, and healthcare data standards Benefits Work inside a globally recognized pharmaceutical leader Directly contribute to drug discovery and patient-impacting research Be part of a high-caliber engineering team solving complex real-world problems Operate at the intersection of cloud, HPC, software engineering, and life sciences Drive innovation using cloud-native technologies, microservices, and large-scale compute Fully remote within the EU Flexible B2B freelance contract Mission-driven work with world-class researchers
