The Presales engineering team is the technical partner to Sales. We provide unanticipated value and strive to provide the right solutions to our customers. Our team possesses the deepest levels of technical understanding and builds relationships to understand customer business drivers. We match these to Akamai's technology and clearly articulating complex solutions to our customers.

As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you will sit at the heart of the sales process. You will be the technical evangelist supporting customers with the adoption of our products and services. You'll play a pivotal role in demonstrating the value of our solutions, helping to close the sale.

As a Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate
• Working closely with sales to educate customers on Akamai's services and build strategic solutions
• Shaping technical and product innovation by evaluating new technologies, and proposing solutions for production
• Maximizing customer satisfaction, retention, and growth based on the customer’s needs and business requirements

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field or its equivalent
• Have 5 years of relevant experience working in a customer-facing or consulting role in technical presales/sales engineering
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and SSL protocols
• Possess Relevant knowledge of security, public and private cloud related technologies
• Demonstrate excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences
• Be a good team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast-changing environment
