Job Description

BeReal is hiring a Senior SRE to help scale and maintain the reliability of a high‑traffic social media platform. The Infrastructure team designs and operates infrastructure on GCP with a focus on scalability, cost efficiency and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain SRE practices across scope: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management and postmortems
• Design, implement and optimize infrastructure for availability, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency
• Contribute to observability: monitoring, alerting, logging and distributed tracing
• Automate infrastructure and operational workflows (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt, Kubernetes)
• Support FinOps initiatives and build tools/insights to optimize cloud costs
• Partner with development squads to improve service reliability and performance
• Contribute to architectural decisions for resilient distributed systems and share knowledge with other engineers
  
  

Requirements / Profile:

• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes
• Experience with high‑traffic distributed systems and related tools (service discovery, config/secret management)
• Strong knowledge of a cloud provider (GCP preferred; AWS also mentioned)
• Solid experience applying SRE practices (SLOs, incident management, observability, reliability engineering)
• Operational mindset with experience managing production incidents and driving reliability improvements
• Collaborative, ownership-driven and pragmatic, balancing performance and cost
